Our Ambassadors, Governors and Volunteers did us proud too. Thank you everyone. I’m so proud. The Forest School Team: This is always the highlight of our Forest School year. The children at BVPS are very lucky to experience Forest School and we enjoy showcasing what it is all about and the elements that we teach them in their sessions at school. Seeing the children working alongside members of the public and speaking passionately about their own Forest School experience and what it means to them, is great. Adults and children alike did Bolnore proud!’ Chris Gage, Vice Chair of Governors: Bolnore's presence at the Show really stood out. Lots of interested adults, but even more children! Schools visiting the Show came by our stand and all wanted to start their own Forest School by the time they left. Most noticeable were our school ambassadors--great self- confidence, happy to show the children how to make things and at the end they all realised what a day's work was all about! It was a truly wonderful sight to see and I'll definitely volunteer my time next year! Rob Becvar, Governor: ‘My first thoughts of my experience with the school at the South of England Show was how great the site looked, the hard work and effort made by the teachers and staff and how very impressive the School Ambassadors were. They were a real credit to the School and led from the front. Everyone I spoke to was truly blown away by what our School offers its children. Many schools either did not have the space to create a Forest School or others simply did not have the funding. Several parents I spoke to were genuinely interested in bringing their children to the School purely based on this experience we offer. As a parent myself, Forest School is something that I took for granted and it is just something my children attend once in a while. To see how these other children, teachers and parents view what we do though is a massive eye opener. We really should be amazingly proud and feel incredibly lucky that Bolnore Village offers such a diverse education tool that many other schools cannot offer. I can’t wait for next year to help out again!!’ Perry Webber, Staff helper: ‘I felt privileged to be there. It gave me the opportunity to use the skills I had refined in Forest School sessions to help others make things. I particularly enjoyed working with children who had never done anything like that before and seeing their eyes light up with what they produced.’ Emma Johnson, Forest School Ambassador: ‘Our stall was very good quality with lots of boards showing what we do as a school. Also, by giving out pamphlets it helps other people understand what Forest School is. The best thing about being an Ambassador was helping members of the public to make things out of wood, just as we do in Forest School.’ Martha Grout, pupil visiting the Show: ‘The best thing for me about our stall was making a name necklace out of wood. The whole Show was really good because there was lots to do, such as making a badge and there were lots of animals to see. My favourite animal I saw was a horse. I also enjoyed going on some of the rides whilst I was there.’ Lots of chatting together, helping others, sharing ideas, inspiring people and raising the profile of Forest School in the community. We spent lots of time demonstrating how we use tools to create useful objects and products, which we can make use of in our lives. Well done to everyone who correctly guessed this logo as being for the Sydney Olympics in last week’s quiz. If you like quizzes, make sure you get a ticket for 7 July, FoBVPS Quiz Night! Well done to our Choir Choir Choir Choir, who sang at the Music Festival in Haywards Heath last weekend. What a huge audience to sing to!
