    (2) Acknowledges that the access upgrades will particularly improve access for people who are frail and elderly, parents with young children in prams and people with a disability.

    (3) Demands the Government make public all the mistakes in the New South Wales health and hospital system.

    (4) Calls on the Minister for Health to restore community confidence in Fairfield Hospital by immediately releasing details surrounding the unplanned deaths in December 2015 at Fairfield Hospital's maternity unit which have been referred to the Clinical Excellence Commission for investigation.

    That this House:(1) Notes that yesterday the Victorian Government announced it will build 65 new trains in Victoria

    for a cost of $2 billion.

    (2) Notes that this is $300 million less than the Government's South Korean built train fleet.

    (3) Notes this local rail manufacturing order will create 1,100 manufacturing jobs in Victoria.

    (4) Condemns the Government for sending billions of dollars and over a 1000 jobs offshore to South Korea.

    1332 NORTHERN NSW AUSTRALIAN GARDEN HISTORY SOCIETYMR ADAM MARSHALL to move

    That this House:(1) Congratulates the Australian Garden History Society (AGHS) Northern NSW Sub Branch, on

    receiving a Landscape Conservation Award at the 22nd Annual National Trust Heritage Awards held in Sydney on 6 May 2016.

    (2) Notes the award recognises the impressive project of preserving a living collection of 600 heritage roses relocated from the garden of Miss Catherine Maclean a local Armidale resident and devoted rosarian.

    (3) Further notes the local AGHS Northern NSW Sub Branch volunteers, led by President, Mr Bill Oates, moved the roses and re-established them in new garden beds in the former orchard at Saumarez Homestead.

    (4) Notes the mission of AGHS is to promote awareness and conservation of significant gardens and cultural landscapes through engagement, research, advocacy and activities, admirably performed by its Armidale members.

    (5) Acknowledges the importance of the AGHS and Saumarez Homestead to the Armidale community and wishes them the very best with their future gardening and tourism ventures.

    1333 LEURA RAILWAY STATION EASY ACCESS UPGRADEMS TRISH DOYLE to move

    That this House:(1) Notes the Government's proposed upgrade of Leura railway station to provide easy access to the

    platform from Leura Mall.

    (2) Acknowledges Leura's special status as a tourist destination and heritage village in the Blue Mountains and the important role the historic streetscape plays in Leura's charming village atmosphere.

  • (3) Notes that additional works, such as a Stratco-shed canopy on the platform and anti-throw screens along the bridge do not promote easy access to public transport and that they will have significant and lasting impacts on the heritage values of Leura railway station and the historic streetscape of Leura Mall.

    (4) Calls on Transport for NSW to set aside these unnecessary works, engage a heritage architect to provide advice on any new design work, consult with the Leura community and in the meantime only progress with works to install elevator access at Leura railway station.

    (5) Thanks the Leura Village Association and other articulate local residents for their advocacy and activism to protect Leura from the consequences of poor decision making by the Government.

    Service Walkway that acknowledges individuals who have served our nation and its allies.

    (2) Acknowledges that part of the funding for the Remembrance of Service Walkway came from the successful application by the Picton-Thirlmere-Bargo RSL sub branch to the New South Wales Government's Community and Building Partnership 2015-2016 round of grants.

    That this House:(1) Notes the risks a national plebiscite on marriage equality would have for the LGBTIQ

    community, including children being raised by LGBTIQ parents.

    (2) Notes that studies show LGBTIQ people have the highest rates of suicidality of any population in Australia.
