A Message from our Principal, Ms Pantelis

Leading the Way

In developing our students’ leadership skills, the Year 5 students participated in an excellent Leadership Day on Tuesday. The students had an opportunity to engage in a variety of activities aimed at developing the students’ leadership skills. Thank you to the Year 5 teachers led by Mrs Nakkan for organising such a successful day. I know the students enjoyed it as our school embarks on the journey in the selection process of our 2020 School Captains and Prefects.

Reading It is important for all children to read every day and I encourage all our students to read throughout the holiday break. Reading books improves communication skills and vocabulary. Reading is an essential skill that is required in all key learning areas. We have an amazing library as a resource for your children to access.

“Reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body.” Sir Richard Steele

A Safe Community A reminder of the following road safety behaviours when picking up or dropping off your children at school:

Safe driving in 40km/h school zones

Safety around school crossings

Parking safely near the school

Children at least 8 years old hold an adult’s hand at all times

Adult to take or meet the child at the school gate Please do not wait in the no stopping zone as this affects the flow of traffic. Parents are to enter and exit the school via the pedestrian gate NOT the driveway. Tomorrow is the last day of Term 3.

All students and staff return to school on Monday 14 October. A reminder that in Terms 1 and 4 students are expected to wear the full summer uniform and in Terms 2 and 3, students are expected to wear their winter uniform. We are very proud of our school uniform and have always received positive comments from members of the community about our uniform. Our school hat is an extremely important part of our school uniform and is to be worn before school, at recess and at lunch. Term 4 is always an exciting term and an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of our students through our special Presentation Day Assemblies, as well as other special end of year events.

Success is how high you bounce when you hit bottom. George S. Patton - 1885-1945 - United States Army General
