INAUGURAL ADDRESS BY MEHUL KUWADIA Friends I welcome you all and thank you for participating in this Silver Jubilee Celebration of Grey Cells… This is truly an International Conference… We have speakers from 20 countries situated in Middle East, Africa, Australia, Europe, USA & Asia… We also have 15,000 registered participants from 15 different countries.. So not only this an International Event but also probably the largest one… I once again thank you all for making this a grand event… It was a coincidence that on 16th May, both me and Dr R L Bhatia (of World HRD Congress), both of us individually thought of holding a Webinar together; this we communicated to each other.. and by 30th May we had firmed up our plans to organize a record making HR Conference, along with Ashish Gakrey of HR Shapers. All three of us pooled our strengths and in just 7 weeks’ time we have this record making International HR Conference happening… an event having 35 speakers from 20 countries & 15,000 registrations… So how did all this happen? Two things worked for all three of us in making this conference a grand SUCCESS. First is SWIFTNESS and second is capitalising on each other’s STRENGTHS. And friends that’s what the theme of this conference is. Building AGILITY; Agility is Quickness, Agility is Swiftness.. Building Agility & STRENGTH; we built on each other’s strengths – FOR ORGANIZATIONAL SUCCESS… success of this Conference.. I am sure, all of you will agree that as a team we have demonstrated the theme of this Conference – BUILDING AGILITY & STRENGTH FOR ORGANIZATIONAL SUCCESSS… swiftness and pooling of strength for organizational success… The same is true for Grey Cells. Grey Cells has grown from a one-man show in 1995, to a team of 10 members in office at Mumbai, doing all kind of back office work; and a team of 60 Trainers, Consultants & Coaches… In 25 years’ time we have achieved quite a few milestones:

1. Becoming fastest growing Training Consultancy. Our client acquisition rate is 1.25 new clients per week. We

have serviced 1500+ clients in 25 years

2. India’s No. 1 Trainers’ Training Consultancy. We have certified 3500+ trainers

I did several medium scale turn around or re-engineering jobs in the distribution and logistics industry. Without initially realizing it this became a theme in a number of jobs I held, making poorly performing units healthy again, and doing so with a focus on keeping or attracting the right people, understanding the numbers of a business in detail, and formulating a vision that was achievable for the team. I'm convinced that as an industry we don't do enough to train people at all levels in our business, but especially those at the entry level. Creating compelling (e) learning for this sector is a must. Have helped Maersk set up an entirely new business, Maersk Trade Finance, ancillary to its shipping business, across three continents. This business will help Maersk broaden its service offering to customers across the globe. We have most recently developed a very innovative blockchain application that is now being piloted with a customer, the customer's customer and a host of smaller service providers. Specialties: Turn around management of units. Revamping sales and operations as well as creating new services. Managing the change needed in order to achieve exponential growth. Developing and introducing supply chain management concepts, doing high level boardroom selling, as well as hard sales at a 'lower' level.
