Virgin AtlanticTo maintain Virgin’s high levels of customer service, the in-flight on-screen display options need to be available in a host of languages to enable individual passengers to navigate through the entertainment system in their language of choice.

Bubbles provides Virgin Atlantic with a dedicated team of native-speaking and degree-educated translators that, each month, carry out local research to make sure the established characters and wordings for movies and artists are always adhered to.

Service Provided

The Bubbles Translation Memory tool is used to memorise phrases so translations can be reapplied wherever the phrase appears. This ensures continuity and consistency of style and terminology in wording that is regularly updated, altered or contains the same phrase – in turn delivering enhanced efficiency at a reduced cost.

WeetabixWeetabix exports its breakfast cereals to more than 80 countries around the world. In 2011 the company embarked on a £7m global marketing campaign to transform the €100m a year Weetabix brand.

Bubbles was tasked with providing exacting translation services to enable Weetabix to effectively communicate the new brand positioning and messaging to partners and consumers in each of the target export countries.

Service Provided

Weetabix’s overseas advertising messages are very different from its UK positioning. This involved specialist teams of translators to match marketing messages, legal t&c’s with text length (for packaging) and the right balance of cultural idioms and nuances to perfect the translation service.

Specialising in areas such as advertising, marketing communications, media, digital and brand equity research the scope of their work covers practically every country and language in the world; notably their clients incorporate 90% of the world’s largest brands.

Bubbles have been partners to Millward Brown for over decade working hand in hand with them across a wide range of market research areas. Bubbles provide translations, proofreading and QA analysis; and provide the translation of documents such as questionnaires, survey responses and code-frames.

BrintonsBrintons has been producing the highest quality carpets since the 1700s. A British brand whose carpets are hailed among the finest in the world, Brintons recently embarked on a major expansion programme.

Aimed at stimulating growth on a global scale, a new marketing strategy involved revamping Brinton’s website. As part of the three-month project, Bubbles Translation Services was tasked with translating the site into four different European languages.

Service Provided

Brintons was already using a third party to create the content for its English website, part of the brief included Bubbles liaising directly with the web designers.

By taking this approach, Bubbles’ translators were able to produce content in a format that enabled the website to be populated with minimal effort, a move that ultimately resulted in minimising the final cost for Brintons.

Thermo ScientificThermo Fisher Scientific is the world leader in serving science.With more than 39,000 employees, the company specialises in medical instruments, laboratory, equipment and software, consumables, chemicals, pharmaceuticals and healthcare products.

Bubbles Translation Services was appointed by Thermo Fisher Scientific to translate and typeset a number of complex technical documents into more than 40 languages. The documents included highly technical user/maintenance manuals for medical diagnostic equipment, instructions and software and datasheets for specialist pharmaceutical products.

Service Provided

The Bubbles translators involved with this project understood the importance of phraseology and cultural sensitivity in certain areas, which is why their work could be relied upon to convey exactly the right message in the right way. Bubbles was able to deliver the translations on time and to a consistently high standard.

Meggitt Polymers + CompositesMeggitt Polymers and Composites is a global FTSE-100 company that specialises in the manufacturing of engineering components for some of the most extreme of environments in the world, as well as sub-systems for use in the aerospace, defence and energy markets.

This project aimed to provide a link in Meggitt’s quality assurance audit trail that ensured translations between bases were true to their original form and maintained every aspect of technical detail. Meggitt needed to analyse the quality and accuracy of the technical documentation produced by their Chinese division.

Following project completion quality assurance processes have been significantly improved; today Meggitt have complete confidence that the quality requirements of their products and procedures are being adhered to, regardless of the differences between their bases’ languages.

Frontier MedexUS based FrontierMEDEX are a multi-billion dollar company; working in some of the most challenging environments in the world they provide medical solutions in crisis areas such war zones and areas affected by natural disasters.

Bubbles was tasked with the challenge of initially checking the critical first-response medical procedures in use in various Middle-Eastern countries.FrontierMEDEX wanted to ensure that these procedures were as accurate and efficient as possible, enabling them to undertake and improve upon their life saving medical solutions.

Bubbles are entrusted with not only life critical translations, but have also been tasked with the translation of highly specialised medical publications by the respected ‘Royal College of Surgeons’.

Norbar Torque ToolsNorbar is the world’s leading torque specialist and are devoted exclusively to the design, development and production of torque tightening and measuring equipment.

Until Bubbles started working with Norbar in 2005, the translation of their documentation was produced using various resources including local distributors and smaller translation companies leading to brand inconsistency and the passionate and dedicated team being unhappy with their global customer’s experience.

As well as improving the quality and consistency of translations, Bubbles was able to introduce major cost savings by utilising computer aided translation (CAT) tools.This system “memorises” all translations so that if the same sentence is ever needed to be translated again in any future manual, Norbar do not need to pay in full for this again.

PhilipsPhilips of The Netherlands is a global technology company with a highly diversified portfolio in terms of business reach; their products are involved in varying areas of Healthcare, Consumer Lifestyle and Lighting.

Phillips are equipped in many areas to handle various international business tasks with in house bi-lingual staff. However, Phillips need to utilise Bubbles’ services for their Far-Eastern language translations, where the speciality and diversity of languages in singular regions can often have an enormous amount of dialects.

NovartisNovartis is a global Swiss-based pharmaceutical company with a diverse healthcare portfolio that includes: innovative pharmaceuticals, eye care products, generics, consumer health products, vaccines and diagnostic tools and animal health products.

Having planned to use a local Chinese translation agency for a high-level training course in Shanghai, Novartis found themselves in a difficult situation when, at the last moment, the chosen supplier advised that they would be unable to meet the deadline due to the material’s complex and varied subject matter.

With senior management from the Arena flying out to Japan, Bubbles Translation Services was briefed to translate and typeset the venue’s corporate brochure into Japanese. Bubbles had just two days to complete the translation of the brochure and provide it fully art-worked in order for hard copies to be printed on time
