of a true pioneer of the Romanian

education system, whose ideas,

actions and guidance are still of

incredible current relevance.

Spiru Haret recognized that the

vast supply of values is the nation

and that the people are in need of

intellectuals.

Therefore, he created, organized,

monitored and guided academic

institutions, discovered capable

individuals to manage them, and

mentored, advised and stimulated

those remarkable individuals,

personally.

Here, at Spiru Haret University, we

have been following in his footsteps

for the last 25 years. We have built

a future-oriented institutional

complex, with a modern and strong

infrastructure and competent

human resources.

Our organization has asserted

itself within the Romanian

education system, enjoying a well-

deserved prominence both

nationally and worldwide.

While harnessing and carrying

forward the valuable heritage that

Spiru Haret passed on, we are fully

aware of the great accountability

that we have assumed. The

outcome so far entitles us to state

that our path has been well chosen,

that scholar Spiru Haret would have

acknowledged our efforts.

We urge present and future

generations to emulate the life of

Following the example of the iconic Harvard

University in the United States of America,

Prof. PhD Aurelian Gh. Bondrea designed,

initiated, organized and managed Spiru

Haret University. He was joined by 32

people of a highly intellectual and moral

value, as founding members. „With these

people on your side, you could move

mountains!”, said Professor Bondrea

about his team.

The institution bears the name of a great

visionary, scholar and pioneer of the

Romanian education system, Spiru Haret.

The University has therefore pledged, since

the very beginning, to support and uphold

his vision for the Romanian society’s culture

and education.

Spiru Haret University endorses the principles

and standards included in Magna Charta

Universitatum, adopted in Bologna in 1988,

thus acting towards transferring regulations,

norms and values promoted by the Bologna

Process into the fields of higher education

and scientific research. The President of the

University signed the Magna Charta Univer-

sitatum in 2005 and committed, on behalf

of the institution, to uphold and promote

academic autonomy, to respect and ensure

fundamental values and rights, and to have

an efficient approach towards challenges

derived from evolution, such as the

transition to a knowledge-based society

or the process of globalization.

Spiru Haret University’s standing within the

Romanian education system is mainly owed

to the consideration shown for each element

of the teaching process, while upholding

inherent values and traditions. The institu-

tion’s development strategy has continually

been focused on investments in modern

learning-teaching resources, on improving

amenities, on facilitating access to educa-

tion, on a pro-quality organizational culture,

on academic cooperation and on a

student-centred education, in order to

provide a viable alternative for public higher

learning system.

Over time, the University has experienced

remarkable development, both nationally

and as a part of the global academic

dedicated to the advancement of higher

SPIRU HARETRESIDENCE HALL

Spiru Haret University offers affordable accommodations for both national and international students in its private residence hall. The hostel is located in the 4th District of Bucharest, in close vicinity to the University’s Berceni Campus, and only 5 minutes away from major public transportation routes.

Completely renovated in 2015, the residence hall consists of 2,3 or 4-person rooms and a limited number of individual studios for students in need of a private, quiet study environment.

The Spiru Haret Residence Hall features both private and communal sanitary facilities, refrigerators in each room and 24 hour security, while the surrounding garden is the perfect setting for outdoor social leisure activities.

The structure is run in compliance with the provisions of the Regulation on organization, management and operation of student residence halls.

THE BLACKBOARD E-LEARNING PLATFORM

In terms of assessment, Blackboard Platform allows the online testing and monitoring of each student, individually. Thus, they will have to solve applications, write essays or answer multiple choice tests throughout the semester. Final exams may be also taken via the Platform.

With a friendly user interface, easy to understand, Blackboard

features an online teaching method. By means of a

personal account, students can access textbooks and learning materials in text

format, but also audio-video study documents with an attractive graphics. This

Platform also provides an electronic notice board with

information on course timetables, exam

scheduling and grades.

The Blackboard e-learning platform, purchased by Spiru Haret University in 2006, is an online support that supplements traditional, direct teaching activities. The Negoieşti Teaching Farm features the Clinic for Large

Animals, with a surface area of 100sqm. It includes the

following amenities: booth for large animal contention,

(adjustable) table for surgical interventions, contention

supplies, mobile scialitic lamps, small and large surgery

instruments, podotechnics tools, obstetrics devices.

At the Clinic, students carry out activities of assistance,

consultations, treatment and surgical interventions, under

the supervision of the teaching staff.

Throughout the year, veterinary services and support

are provided by students, emergency ward doctors

and specialized academia. For non-ambulatory cases,

the Small Animal Clinic can also accommodate over-

night hospitalization.

Spiru Haret University owns two academic veterinary clinics designed to treat animal illnesses while also providing practical training for students. The clinics are part of the national veterinary system and represent the main teaching resource for students at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, for veterinary doctors and for other similar categories.

The Foreign Languages Centre of Spiru Haret University was founded in 2002 with the purpose to provide pupils, students, alumni and the general public with a r ich selection of foreign language courses, adapt-ed to the personal and professional needs of each part icipant.

The Foreign Languages Centre organizes courses of English, French, German, I tal ian, Spanish, Arabic, Russian, Japanese, Chinese and Romanian languages, covering al l three levels of difficulty: beginner (A1- A2), intermediate (B1 –B2) and advanced (C1 –C2).

CAREER COUNSELLING AND GUIDANCE CENTRE

The services provided by the Career Counsell ing and Guidance Centre involve psychological profiling, guidance in selecting an educational path that best matches personal interests and ski l l set, career orienta-t ion, support in draft ing a career development plan, assistance in applying for jobs, internships, volunteer programmes, financial aid or research grants, organizing coaching sessions, workshops and conferences that wil l boost the personal and professional abil i t ies, as well as faci l i tat ing meetings between students and experts in various professional areas.

The Centre employs special-ists of Spiru Haret Universi-ty, competent in psycho-therapy, psychological counsell ing, psychoanaly-sis, integrative psychology, psychoanalyt ical psycho-therapy for chi ldren and teenagers, experimental psychology, social psycho- logy and organizational psychology.

These experts are members in prestigious national and international organizations, such as the Romanian College of Psychologists, Romanian Psychologists ’ Associat ion, International Associat ion of Psycho- analysis, and American Psychology Associat ion.

Upon request, al l of the Centre’s therapists can provide psychological assistance and support to afflicted people.

TVH TELEVISION

Start ing with 2012, an intensive rebranding process has been init iated which led to the name change into TVH and to promoting more general , news-worthy and entertainment-oriented content.

The TVH television is currently undergoing further development, aiming for higher rat ings, improvement of the production and post-production processes and financial autonomy by attracting buyers for i ts advert is ing space.

Launched on October 1, 2000, the television station of România de Mâine Foundation has adopted ever since its establishment a cultural orientation that was carried on for 12 years. Complementary to the activity of Spiru Haret University, TVH has operated as an academic and university station that provided public access to higher learning by means of broadcasting educational lectures, courses and programmes held by professors and teaching staff.

RADIO SEVEN

Since 2015, the radio stat ion of Spiru Haret University has undergone a process of refreshment and rebranding, start ing with a change of i ts 10-year name (HFM) into the current, Radio Seven, and focus-ing on accessibi l i ty, popularizat ion and professionalism while maintaining its cultural and academic standpoint. The new Radio Seven has brought together a str ing of personalit ies, a team of profes-sionals and important names in the Romanian radio scene.

Unlike most radio stat ions that have almost identical playl ists, s imilar grid and tabloid-style content, Radio Seven promotes a new approach, to escape from the stereotypical patterns by tapping into diversified musical genres, assuming a role in educating its audience.

The channel l ist ings feature book and movie reviews, broadcasting dai ly cultural events, air ing current affairs and news, comments and relevant analyses. In addit ion, the music is uniform, yet diversified in terms ofgenres: pop, pop-rock, alternative, electro – not aggressive, but with an emotional substance, meaningful message and r ich content.

Radio Seven stands as an alternative to the current radio market, setting itself apart through quality editorial content, mainly directed to culture, academic environment, education and current affairs, and through the music it promotes– a commercial alternative pop-rock, absent from the local radio scene, suitably blended with the broadcast information and programs.

The public archive Arhivdepo Inter-national complies with pert inent legislat ion, therefore being granted the authorization no. 171/2015 from the National Archives of Romania for services of archive preservation and conservation.

According to the Law of National Archives, the conservation of documents created and owned by inst itutions, companies and organizations has to fol low a series of safety standards. Thus, at Arhivdepo International , documents are stored in archiving boxes specifical ly built for long term conservation, in compliance with Archiving Regulations and legislat ion.
