    Course Synopsis

    This is an individual research project inconnection with a special engineering

    problemand under the guidance of afaculty member (Chem. Eng).

    The project undertaken may fall under oneof the following areas; mathematicalanalysis, experimental tests, computersimulation, hardware and/or softwaredevelopment, device fabrication.

    Course Outcome (FYPI only)

    At the end of this course, students should be able to:

    Produce an acceptable project proposal

    Obtain information and data from related literatures

    Evaluate the relevance and quality of literature

    obtained.

    Identify various implementation strategies.

    Propose appropriate methodology (experiment,design, modeling)

    Produce report of the project and present orally.

    Students are to explore research/design

    The project work must exhibit element oforiginality, which indicates the maturitylevel for the final year bachelor degreeprogramme.

    !Project Allocation- New System

    The project allocation will be done by distributing

    students to supervisor

    Studentswill not select the titles.

    Supervisorwill not select the students

    Should the students proposed a project, the allocatedsupervisor will consider and decide on the project.

    All students are assumed to be able to take any FYP

    B Eng project regardless of their interest.

    Supervisor will design a project that suits every B Engstudents in which unlike MSc project, specialization of

    undergraduate students are not taken into account.

    Based on Academic Committee instruction and decision.

    Barring from continuing the project

    Students shall be barred from the project on week 9if theextended proposalare not submitted. As a consequence,students will earn a grade of F.
