Welcome to the 6th edition of BodyWorkz Jam report ~your source for insider “training”

news.

This month’s new podcast is about unlocking opportunities. This month’s newsletter is

about Notes! ...what makes a good one, the importance of keeping them , and what we

can do to make them better.

Why Do We Need Notes?

Robin Dunbar, a British anthropologist, postulates that there is in fact a limit to how many

stable social relationships a person can manage. This number is estimated for most peo-

ple to be between 100-250, with the average set at about 150, dependent on memory

ability. With the average club membership between 500-1000 people, the need for great

notes becomes apparent.

Notes are vital to being a professional personal trainer.

For trainers, it is even trickier, since as a “personal” trainer, we are often ex-

pected to hold a great deal of detailed information about our clients. Failure to

retain that information, can result in a fracture of the trust we have built, a disso-

lution of the confidence our client has in us, and perhaps the loss of that client

when time to renew.

In the following pages we will be looking at the power of good notes. From our

Club of the Month– AF Greer SC This month our Club of the Month award goes to AF Greer SC.

Anytime Fitness Greer has been with BodyWorkz since 2008, and it has not always

been an easy ride. In the beginning like many clubs, they struggled with personal train-

ing, and looked for easy answers and quick remedies to fix their challenges. Through

patience and persistence, they have built their 2nd largest remit to an enviable place.

But they are not done yet. They have lofty goals, and together with their coach Renee

Saddler, they are well on their way to reaching them.

Building your PT profit center is much like training, It is not the really big momen-

tous moment that makes the change, it is doing the right thing, consistently and

repeatedly that has the most influence on your results.

"We have been using the Bodyworkz system since we opened our first club in 2006 and just as we have grown over the years, so has Bodyworkz. We are so very thankful for the entire team at Bodyworkz, and most especially Renee, for all the coaching and training she has provided us over the years. We have a truly amaz-ing, talented staff of personal trainers and sales reps who create a fun, happy, team atmosphere for everyone to work in. Following up, being persistent, and not giving up has truly made our Personal Training Department success-ful. They are dedicated to helping our members reach their goals and have the know-how to get it done. AF Conference 2014 Just like we have for the last several years, the staff of BodyWorkz will be representing in the

Exhibitor’s Hall at the annual Anytime Fitness Conference. This year we will be jetting off to

the oasis in the desert, “The West’s Most Western Town”, Scottsdale, Arizona. On September

11th, the crew of Anytime Fitness Corporate along with their franchisees and vendors will ride

into town for 4 days of education, exhibits, fun, and camaraderie. By the time we roll out on

Sunday, Scottsdale’s new nickname may be the “Most Purple City in the USA”.

As in the past, BodyWorkz will have the most sought after t-shirts at the exhibit. But if you

have been to our booth before, these shirts go quickly, and this year with over 1800 people

expected to attend, they will go quicker than ever.

Personal Trainers: Bring a copy of your most recent Trainer ’s Monthly Performance Re-

port.

What Makes A Good Note...GREAT? Rules for Specific

Goal notes…...

Here is a quick and easy

checklist to determine if you (or your trainer) are taking great notes.

The reason to join is their goal, not “it’s a 24hr club.”

IS the note specific and measurable? EX: Lose weight -vs-- lose 25lbs.

The “Why? means why is this goal important to them...usually there is an emotional

component (fear, envy, lust).

Could anyone read this note and make an effective phone call based on the infor-

mation? In other words, if you knew nothing, what would you know after reading

this note?

The objection is their reason NOT to purchase training at this time. It is not NONE,

unless they purchased training.

Remember the key to maintaining the personal details that matter is keeping great

notes.

It’s time to start PLEASE’n, no waitin’, no “(BLEEP)”!

Start with the P and learn who they are. Why do they do it and take it so far?

Who do they love and why do they try? How you can help is the end of that “why?”.

Next is the L, we listen to learn. Without even thinking of the money we’ll earn.

It’s all about them; it’s their story, their strife.

Listen without judging their struggles, family or life.

E is Empathy, have it or not.

We must show we care, inspire them on the spot.

No need to enable , we KNOW that they CAN

No need for pity...just lend them a hand.

A– to Anticipate what they need is the task

Give it to them, BEFORE they can ask.

S-Sense of Urgency– let’s do it now.

They have the desire...we show them HOW.

To fix this challenge before it takes longer.

Help them take action, get fitter, get stronger.

The Last E Encouragement….that’s what we do.

Celebrate, give kudos, slap high fives too.

Keep them excited to keep moving forward

Stop those plateaus, don’t let them get bored.

See, it’s not all about numbers...Show that you care.

Work it with PLEASE, the dollars are there.

Member first is the rule, to make everything tick.

Build rapport with your member, and the rest will just click.

provide tokenized account info and processing for your members. This increased security means, that personal account

data is not being transmitted, and that means, unable to be hacked. Please bear with us in the coming weeks as we

finalize and troubleshoot this awesome safety feature.
