Other (please state

below)

The Board is asked to receive the 2015/16 and 2016/17 registers in line with the requirements of the Trust’s declaration of interests and Standards of Business Conduct Policy.

2. Summary

The Trust approved an amended policy on declarations and standards of business conduct in 2014. In her annual letter to staff in August 2015, the Chair of the Audit and Assurance Committee explained the requirements of the policy amongst other governance requirements. On 6th April 2016 the Deputy Board Secretary informed all directors of staff groups required to submit annual declarations of the need to ensure that their staff are made of aware of their obligations. Since then declarations have been and continue to be submitted and the register of interests for 2016/17 reflects current declarations rather than offers a comprehensive list. Please note that no declarations of hospitality or gifts have been made in 2016/17 to date but the complete register for 2015/16 is attached for Board assurance purposes. Sponsorship and gifts are usually submitted on an ad-hoc basis throughout the year after which the register is updated appropriately. Also, please note that the Audit and Assurance Committee has received the comprehensive staff register of interests for 2015/16 and 16/17 (as currently stands) and can provide assurance to the Board on these. The Board is to receive the register of interests for board members and governors only.

3. Next Steps The registers will be maintained throughout the year to reflect any additional declarations.

4. Required Actions The Board are asked to receive and note the contents of both registers for the years 2015/16 and

2016/17.

5. Monitoring Arrangements Monitoring will be undertaken by the Board Secretary and devolved to the Deputy Board Secretary.
