PROGRAM OUTCOMES
1. Engineering Knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science,
engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of
complex engineering problems. 2. Problem Analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze
complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first
principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences. 3. Design/Development of Solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering
problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs
with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural,
societal, and environmental considerations. 4. Conduct Investigations of Complex Problems: Use research-based knowledge
and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation

event “Phase shift -2018”, various events, guest
lectures workshops, competitions held:

coordinator, organized a workshop “Gazing with
Machine Learning”, Mr. Sujay-Co-founder and
COO - Viga Studios, Bangalore was the invited
resource person and Akshit Bhalla and

Workshop was about challenges and difficulties
in building complex machines for space systems
such as satellites and launch systems.

Ithal, student coordinators for the event FURY ROAD
V4.The scintillating flagship event of the EC department
is the Fury Road. The participants are required to build
an RC (remote controlled) car on their own. The car will
be tested against other team‟s cars until the last one
standing is worthy of being the winner. Each round will
be a knockout round with no second chances. This event
tests the team's RC car on design, speed, durability,
power and additional features. The aim of this event is to
design and build a single remote controlled car that can
compete in various challenges such as a Maze, Carrom
Match and Obstacle Track.Students learnt the basics of
embedded system and interfacing microcontrollers with
various components.

faculty coordinator organized a “Workshop on Artificial
Intelligence and Deep Neural Networks”. Mr. Vikram R
Lakkavalli, Project Manager at Ejnana and Mr.
Shreekantha A Nadig, Research Scholar at IIIT
Bangalore were the invited resource persons.
Participants Got insights into practical aspects right
from foundation to build models or applications for
computer vision using various tools. Hands on sessions
on various mathematical details and deep learning
frameworks used in artificial intelligence and deep

16/09/2018: Mr.SURENDRA .H H, Assistant
professor and faculty coordinator, for the event
“E‟SPAC‟IO” , Mr. CHETAN PRASAD G,
from PRAYOGeek Bangalore was the invited
jury member and sponsorer of the event and
this event is all about, the Students bid for
components and develop a circuit from the
components. They made a working
model/prototype.
16/09/2018: Archana H. R. Assistant professor
and faculty coordinator for the event “Space
Junk” , Mrs. Savita Ganjigatti, Vice President,
Sienna ECAD was the invited external jury
member and Mohammed Arfan, Alpha design
systems was the internal jury member.
Building (4 ½ hours): Each team was initially
given a fixed amount of VM (Virtual
Money).Teams are allowed to use the Internet
(Internet access provided).Each team provided
with a list of available components and their
respective costs. All the components were
made available at the venue (“Space Junk”).
Teams can buy the required components using
VM.Each time gets a total of 4 ½ hours to
discuss, buy components and come up with a
working model.Teams can also use their VM to
seek ‘Mentors Advice’ (Mentors were present
at the venue).
15/09/2018: Pushpa K, assistant professor and faculty
coordinator for the event “Space Pellicule” Mr. Pramod
Maravanthe, Lyricist and Mr. Seshachala Subbaramaiah,
were the invited jury members.Th eevent is all about
The reference video was given to remake and asked
them to present their video on the day of phase
shift.Questions were asked on technical aspects of
movie making.Topic(Space colonization) was given to
qualified teams and a day time, a short video of 5min
max based on that had submitted.
15/09/2018: Mrs. Radha R C, assistant professor and
faculty coordinator for the event “Missing spacecraft”, a
fun based learning event .The top two teams to complete
all the stages and find the missing spacecraft among all
the networks , walked away with the rewards. The event
was hugely appreciated by the participating teams with
lots of positive feedback and learning.

setup UG &PG.
E&C department had put up two stall namely,
project stall and the sponsors stall. The major
sponsor of E&C department for this year
(2018) was PRAYOGEEK. The project stall of
E&C department had three working projects,
two simulations, posters and banners. The
E&C department project stall consisted of three
working projects namely ARDOP 3.0, Smart
irrigation System (IOT based project) and CNC
X-Y plotter. It Showcased two simulations
namely, Bluetooth controlled simulation using
ROS and Autonomous robot in ROS.

Professor participated in a Pre-conference workshop as
a part of 16th
international Conference on Remote
Engineering and Virtual Instrumentation REV 2019,
held at BMSCE, Bangalore, Which helped in gathering
data in a controlled manner and using online
experimentation can be a motivational factor, without
the loss of effectiveness in conceptual knowledge gain.
Examples of weight and spring was demonstrated in
understanding the concepts better.

Efficient ALU using Clock Gating for a sensor Node"
and Rashma B. M along with Dr
Poornima.G presented paper titled "Performance
Evaluation of Multicontroller Software Defined
Network Architecture on Mininet " at the 16th
International Conference on Remote Engineering and
Virtual Instrumentation held at BMSCE.

“Development of Smart Sensor Technology for
Electronics Applications” held at JSS Science
and Technology University, Mysuru.

received a commendation certificate and medal by the
deputy director general, Karnataka and Goa
directorate -NCC, for his exemplary achievements in
mountaineering expeditions.
February 8th
, 9th -2019: The event was organized
by BITES. Students from TCE, ECE, ISE, CS and
ME department attended the boot camp. Students
were given hands on training on using INTEL Edison
kits and Jupyter open source analytics software.
Certain case studies like spot and flightradar24 were
extensively demonstrated and explained. Students
were asked to come up with project ideas using tools
used during the training. Prof. Jamadagni and team
from IISc and his team discussed the effectiveness,
social impact, viability and relevance of the project
and mentored the teams. Dr.K.P.Lakshmi (ECE),
Mrs.Preeta (ISE) and Mrs.Shyamala (CSE) attended
the workshop.

2019: Dr. Suma.M N and Dr.
Lakshmi K.P organized guest lecture in
association with IEEE BMSCE SB on
"Integrated EMC Engineering". Experts from
Robert Bosch Engineering and Business
Solutions, Dr. E R Rajkumar, Mr. Deepesh, Mr.
Enke Dietmar spoke about EMC testing
procedures, simulation s and complaince for
automotive applications.

Rohilkhand university, Bareilly (OurMentee
institute). Workshops conducted on Project based
learning using MATLAB AND SIMULINK and
“SAR Filing” as a twining activity.
February 17th
, 2019: As a part of the first
technical initiative of the MoU between Tequed
Labs and Department of ECE-BMSCE, Tequed
Labs conducted a 4-week Industrial Skill
development and Internship Program in the areas
of IOT, App Development, Augmented/Virtual
reality and Machine Learning under the
supervision of the faculties Dr. Kiran Bailey, Prof.
K. Sujatha and Dr.Poornima.G, for the second
and third year engineering students from BMSCE
and other academic Institutions in
which 230 students participated. This program was
conducted from 18/1/2019 to 17/2/2019(4weeks).
MARCH– 2019
02/03/2019: Triumphant Institute of Management
Education Private Limited has been invited to conduct a
Time talent search exam aptitude test for the 6th Semester
students. The objective of the test is self - assessment of
students in order to understand the level of competitive
exams such as CAT, GRE,GMAT, etc. The duration of
test was one hour with seventy seven questions to be
answered. Question type were divided into various
sections such as Quantitative aptitude, Data interpretation,
Logical reasoning, Verbal ability and Reading
comprehension. A total of 63 students have taken up
the exam and have scored in the range of 25-50 marks
which is reasonably good as communicated by the
evaluators.
07/03/2019: Research Scholar Mrs. Anitha Sastry under
the guidance of Dr.Akhila.S, Prof., was conferred the
award „Outstanding Woman in Engineering‟, by
the Venus International Foundation with Centre for
Advanced Research and Design. The award was presented
by Dr. Seire Lim, Nanyang Technological University,
Singapore and Professor Rukaiah Omar, University of
Kebangsaan, Malaysia.
18/03/2019-19/03/2019: Dr.Suma M N, Assoc.Prof.,
attended FDP at Tata Consultancy Services, Bangalore.
20/03/2019 -22/03/2019:Mr. Srivatsa R P and Ms.
Gauthami from Manya-The Princeton review
addressed the students regarding higher studies such
as GRE, TOEFL, GMAT etc at various universities
on March 20th 2019. Insights on various aspects of
pursuing studies abroad was given by the counsel
team. The timing considerations, the start of
preparations, the building of one's profile, for various
competitive exams was also put forth. A brief/fair
idea on the overall procedures and various stages
involved in the admission procedure was given. The
support for aforesaid details would be provided by
the Academic and Counsel team(Manya).
Ms. Gauthami, Academic and counsel team from
MANYA institute came to our college and briefed us
about the various kind of exams we can write after
engineering for pursuing our Higher education
abroad. She discussed about GRE/TOEFL/GMAT etc
and also gave us tips about how we can crack them.
A total of 110 students have been benefitted from the
session. The session concluded with a survey on
study abroad programs. Overall, it was a
knowledgeable session and we seek more of such
guidance from the expertise of this field.
21/03/2019: Dr. Rajat vasudevmurthy,Asst. Prof.,
organized An Extension Lecture titled “POWER FULL -
- An Introduction to Linear and Switching Regulator
Designs” delivered by Śrī Narayan Prasad, Chief
Technology Consultant, Azventa Technologies,
Bangalore. The lecture was targeted at PG students of
ECE department and also open for interested UG
students. Dr. K. S. Vasundhara Patel, Dr. R. Jayagowri,
Smt. Sowmya Sunkara, Smt. Ashwini V, Dr.
Anantha Sunil Maligi, Dr. Rajath Vasudevamurthy along
with 23 students attended the lecture.
23/03/2019:Prof.Harish.v.Mekali, organized a extension
Lecture on “Cyber Physical Systems” In association with
“Robert Bosch Centre for Cyber-Physical Systems ,
IISC”. Invited Subject Expert for the session was Dr.
Bharadwaj Amrutur, Professor, ECE, IISC.
