The sponsors announce a one-day conference on Blacks in New Netherland and Colonial New York to be held on February 18th at the Cultural Edu- cation Center of the Empire State Plaza. The two sessions of the conference will explore various aspects of the Black experience in North America under the Dutch of New Netherland and the English of the province of New York. The five papers will present the results of recent research on Black slaves and freedmen in the Middle Colonies during the 17th and 18th centuries.
