Slurry/Wetblast

The robust Aquagrit slurry blast units are ideal for heavy industrial cleaning applications. The abrasive mediais totally saturated in water within the system fully dampening any airborne fines and dust during the blastingprocess. The mix of abrasive to water is approximately 50:50. Recommended abrasives from 1mm particulate

size upwards

All Aquagrits are manufactured to the Hodge Clemco Contractormachine standards and accept Clemco spares. The pressureregulator fitted allows nozzle pressures from 10 psi (0.7 bar) to110 psi (8bar) giving total flexibility for cleaning or blastingalmost any structure

Typical applications included: cleaning of ships hulls, tankinternals and general steel fabrication

Laser Cleaning

This is a chemical free and non-abrasive solution tothe problem of chewing gum and graffiti removal.The Enviraclean Machine is cost effective to run,powered by propane or diesel with the only cleaningagent being water. This versatile machine is not onlythe perfect solution for chewing gum and graffitiremoval but also fly poster, weed, algae/moss,limescale, grime, bird droppings, weathering (stonecolour re-enhancement) and also cleans items suchas fleet transport,wheelie bins and boats. The Apollo 60 CE airfed blasting helmet is the ultimate in safetyand comfort. It features a double shell construction that provides aircirculation around the operators head. Noise levels inside the helmetare kept low, thanks to the exlusive air distribution. Air is brought into

EDB75 Eductoblast By combining Hodge Clemco’s standard portable blast cleaning equipmentand abrasive recovery system an effective and efficient closed circuit blastsystem has been developed. The Eductoblast is an air powered unit and isideally suited for use with metallic abrasives. For other commonly usedabrasives the addition of a spent material collection hopper isrecommended. This collection hopper is particularly useful for safedisposal of lead based coatings. EductomaticWhen containment of dust and abrasive is necessary, the Eductomatic is an essential tool.

A range of heads are available to provide a seal against most surfacesA 3600 swivel blast head enables cleaning at all angles and with attotal weight of 3 kgs it is light and manoeuvrable. Air volumes of 33-60cfm at 90 p.s.i. are required to power the unit. Abrasive will normallybe of a recyclable type which is cleaned by the unit with all dustcontained in an attached dust bag or for production use in a separatedust collector. With easy filling and a blast pattern of approximately32mm diameter the Eductomatic is a clean and simple unit to operate,ideal for those difficult areas

SG400 Power Injection Gun

Designed for use without a pressure vessel. The unit lifts abrasivedirectly from the bag. With cleaning rates close to that of the 1028contractor machine this is a welcome addition to the operators range ofequipment.

Also available as a wet blast model SG400W keeping dust down to amininum by injecting water into the blast stream.NB. A greater volume of air is required than normally used with the 1028for this unit to work at is optimum capacity.

SG300 Suction GunEssential for light duty blast cleaning when available air volumes are low.With a range ofair jet and nozzle combinations to meet constraints of availablecompressed air, the SG300 will provide an easy answer of the infrequentblaster. Ideal for the smaller job where the abrasive hopper can be placedwithin 10ft (3m)of the surface to be cleaned. Nozzles used are tungstencarbide lined for long life

Hodge Clemco pipe cleanng tools are designed to blast clean the interior of pipes, tubes, flues etc., removingstubborn millscale, rust, carbon, coke, paint etc. The cleaning action leaves the surface free from dust,abrasive and contaminants ready for the application of long-life coating systems. Hodge Clemco pipe coating tools are designed to coat the insides of pipes, tubes, flues etc., quickly andevenly without the need to rotate the workpieces. The units are supplied complete with a control gun,adjustable legs 3, 5, or 10 metres of air control hose and fluid hose

The coating to be applied is pumped from an airless paint spray machine (see airless spray painting section)through the control gun and fluid hose to a rotating head. The coating material is atomised by the speed ofthe rotating head and thrown by centrifugal force onto the internal wall of the pipe. A tungsten carbide spray tiplocated behind the head acts as a flow check to give a controlled flow of material

Compressed air is supplied from the control gun, through a special multiple hose to the unit. One hosesupplies the air motor and a second feeds air to te supporting legs. The two hoses are located inside a rigidnylon outer hose through which exhaust air passes

The minimum pump pressure ratio required is 30:1 with an output of 1.60 (US)GPM. However for best resultswe recommend a Graco King 56:1 airless spray unit with an output of 3.4(US)GPM

Recovery Systems

IND 200P Recovery SystemAn economic and compact unit, the unit consists of asmall hopper sunk into the blast room floor, abrasivesilo and vacuum producing unit. The system allowsup to 3 hours continous production before recovery ofmedia is required. Spent abrasive is swept manuallyinto the floor hopper without reducing theperformance of the unit, and eliminates the need forconstant feeding allowing the operator to performother duties

Scraper Floor Recovery System (right)The scraper floor consists of a series of pivoting blades fittedinto a movable frame. The scraper module moves back andforth driven by a pneumatic cylinder. The blades ride up andover the media on the backward stroke, pushing the abrasivealong as they move forward. The media isthen transported byeither bucket elevator or vacuum into the abrasive cleaning unit

The advantage of the scraper floor system is its low profilewhich reduces or, if floor mounted eliminates any foundationcosts.

The system is designed for low maintenance. No tools arerequired to remove the blades from the module for inspection orrepair. Low running costs are also a key feature, each piston requiring only 4.4 cfm (2litres/sec)@6 bar)
