Game directions:In the 2/4 section, all march in place to the beat, or join hands and step-hop or jump around to the left. In the 4/4 section, as the leader sings the first phrase he/she goes down on one knee. The group echoes and copies the motion as they sing. Second phrase: Down on both knees. Third phrase: One elbow on the floor. Fourth phrase: Both elbows on the floor. All remain quiet and still until the leader decides it is time to stop resting,Indicated by slapping the floor. The leader jumps up as a signal to all begin the da capo.

Game formation: Standing circleChild who is it ("Charlie") walks around the circle and taps the nearest child on the word "me". The tapped child chases "Charlie" back to the vacant spot in the circle. When the children know the song well, "Charlie" sings the first phrase alone and the class echoes.
