Provincetown Transportation

• Cape Air flies from Logan to P-town 7x/day $90 each way, 30 min travel time

• (no other scheduled cities to P-town)

• Charter flight from Groton airport option?

• Ferry is hour an a half, $80 roundtrip 3x/day from Boston

Page 19: Basic Port Assumptions

Provincetown

• What are we doing there?

• If expect crowds to come aboard, we will need a barge there to offload them and a staircase from the barge onto the ship

• If we expect to only board daysail pax, then we can be on a mooring with staircase from water.

Page 20: Basic Port Assumptions

Boston

Constitution areaGreat to have the boats near each otherMuseum support systemWater Taxi access nearby, parking more

difficult

Page 22: Basic Port Assumptions

Galley

• Will we use wood stove? If trained cook• Add ice chests• Keep food simple during sails• Food services trailer / tent for food while

ashore?• MS has stainless food trailer• Need to feed permanent crew • ROANN- her stove not as big as CWM’s• Storeroom and pantry on CWM could be food

• Put tables and chairs in the hold for eating and relaxing

Page 24: Basic Port Assumptions

Barrels

Page 25: Basic Port Assumptions

Deck Layout for Comfort

• Main Hatch could have table / benches

Page 26: Basic Port Assumptions

Deck Layout for Safety

Page 27: Basic Port Assumptions

Deck Layout for Nav/Comm

• Tiller box as chart table– Build a box / rack for pencils/dividers etc

Stbd Aft Cabin becomes:

Galley storage

Heads

• Where will they go?– port fwd locker– Port aft near wheel (this has room for sink

too)

• Also could have one in storage room in tween decks

• Research incinolet heads

Page 30: Basic Port Assumptions

Sinks

• Will put generator in the hold – Power bilge pumps and firefighting– Charge nav batteries– Power lighting

• Will box it with sound proof insulation

• Need to determine more about lighting

Page 32: Basic Port Assumptions

Ramps

• Maybe no floating docks• Not handicapped accessible• Need freeboards of docks and ship(!) to design

ramps• Need to determine tide range in all ports• Get Dan to look at ramp design / tidal

range/bulwark height/dock height• Will need to determine width of docks• Maybe a ramp for access from water (while

moored) (staircase)

Page 33: Basic Port Assumptions

Barge

• Likely need one in P-town

• Need to determine staircase from it to boat

Page 34: Basic Port Assumptions

Ground Support

• Box Van
