EUROGICIEL BITE TEST FUNCTION It looks as if you were on the real CMS: EBTF makes you able to bring back maintenance test facilities by simulating CMS and testing BITE messages on regular benches or computers

INTRODUCTION TO THE BITE On last Airbus programs, the avionics equipment maintenance management is based on a centralized system called CMS. As the CMS centralizes BITE messages, it gives an easier access to failures. Therefore, diagnostics of the failure origin are quicker, more precise and facilitated. The implemented BITE function on each equipment analyzes maintenance messages and can determine the origin of the failure. Then it sends a detailed report to the CMS: This is the normal mode. The interactive mode is another way of communication between BITE and CMS. More like an exchange, the operator can do tests on BITE equipments and reach specific files.

EBTF SPY TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

EBTF SPY is a spying tool which will help you with deeper BITE traffic analyzes. Respecting the same criterias as EBTF (see page 1), it is in addition able to record and replay the exchanges between a real or a simulated CMS and an LRU.

Why to use EBTF SPY ? Compliant with A380, A440M and A350 systems, this is the official tool approved by Airbus Analyzes BITE traffic against ABD100 1.4 (Airbus directives) For a more complete utilization, you will be able to use it in Normal Mode, Interactive Mode It decodes the BITE traffic in human readable format, so that you can monitor the activity The analyze can be in Real Time or in Replay mode For the replay mode, it supports “pcap” Files (for AFDX or Ethernet) and Opera files (for A429) Available network layers: AFDX (Software simulated), ARINC 429 and Ethernet Graphical display: for a user friendly utilization Platform supported: Microsoft Windows

A429 VIRTUALIZATION

In reference to the « A429 over Ethernet » component, ABBA is in this case a tool to emulate the avionic network on a regular Ethernet card. It means that an already existing application which has been developped under A429 layer, can thus be also used on a regular PC with an Ethernet interface. During developments and testings phases, this component will makes you able to reduce costs on your avionics hardware and will dispense you to change your existing application.

HARDWARE OBSOLESCENCE

As long as the user already has a high level application, which is adapted and developed for a specific hardware, it can be sometimes costly in terms of time and budget to move on. Thanks to the abstraction layer, ABBA aims at replacing a testing device like an A429 card, against a regular Ethernet card without any code modification from the original app. The “Hardware Driver Adapter” layer corresponds to the original implemented driver so that “ABBA Commons” can directly communicate with the new hardware through another driver adapter layer. ABBA can handle as many layers as you need. The more HW drivers layers it will have, the more different hardware it will be able to work with.

DEVELOPMENTS WITHOUT DRIVERS

For new applications developments, ABBA’s user will be able to directly code through the “ABBA commons” abstraction layer. This means that all the driver issues will be supported by our services. There also won’t be any hardware dependence for your new application, as ABBA will be managing multiple platforms. Drivers to be implemented will have to be defined with the user.
