Beforereplacingtheengine,checkthealignmentoftheclutchcentreplateandspigot(pilot)bushorbearinginthecrankshaft.Checktheenginetoclutchhousinglocatingdowelsareinplace.Selectfirstorsecondgearinthegearbox.Toreplace,carefullylowertheengineintothecompartmentandpushontothegearbox.Keeptheengineandgearboxsquareandcentralized.Rotatetheenginecrankshafttoaligntheclutchandgearboxinputshaftsplines.

Pushtheenginefullyhomeontothelocatingdowelsandfittwoboltstoclutchhousingandtighten.Removethejackfromunderthegearboxandlowerengineintothemountings.Fitandtightenenginemountingnuts/boltsandremovecraneandsling.Replaceallcomponentsinreverseorder.Makeasystematiccheckofallcomponentsforcorrectfittingandsecurity.Roadtestandrecheckunderbonnet.

•Refittingisareversalofremoval.Ensurethatpreviouslynotedslottedshimsarereturnedtotheiroriginallocation.Usingastraightedgeofsuitablelength,checkthatthetwosectionsofthepropshaftarealigned.Checkmanufacturer’sdataformaximumjointangles.Adjustmentwillbebyaddingorremovingshimsfromthecentrebearing.Checktransmissionfluidlevel.
