Position Overview
The Fair Work Ombudsman (FWO) is an independent statutory office established by the Fair Work Act 2009. Our role is to promote harmonious, productive and cooperative workplace relations and ensure compliance with Australian workplace laws.
We are valued by the community for supporting compliant, productive and inclusive Australian workplaces and we deliver practical workplace relations advice and assistance.
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual with a passion for administration to join our Legal Group. The Legal Group is the primary source of in-house legal advice and litigation services with the FWO. The Group institutes legal proceedings on behalf of the agency to enforce Commonwealth workplace laws and provides legal advice to internal stakeholders.
As an Administration Officer you will be responsible for providing administrative support and assistance to a group of lawyers. The successful applicant will have a can-do attitude, well developed administrative skills, the ability to communicate effectively, experience with Microsoft Office, a good eye for detail and the capacity to manage competing priorities.
This role would suit an employee with strong administrative and communication skills, not someone seeking this opportunity to complete a practical legal internship.
