Dear Families of Wilsons Creek,

As some of you are aware, last Thursday I sustained a rather nasty cut to my leg. I attempted a day at school yesterday with little success. Another trip to the Doctor has confirmed that my self-belief in being resilient is little more than my ego dressed up! I will be away from school making a recovery (I hope!). I have consulted with Mark and Helen and have advised the Module 2 families that we are looking to place the Module 2 Camp in Week 3 of Term 4. This is largely unavoidable due to my leg injury. I would like to thank Mark and Helen for their support yesterday. Cindy is enjoying her trip to Europe. I would like to welcome Gwen (the lady on the front page) to our school. Gwen is a very experienced School Administrative Manager and we are very lucky to have her working with us. With Jenny and Alison, we have a strong Administrative staff at our school.

Our P and C Update

The new stove has been delivered! Planning is now underway for the opening of the Canteen and the installation of the Aboriginal Naming Plaque and flagpole. - If you know of anyone that could help us pick up the flagpole from Byron Bay, please let me know.

Around the Modules

The term is moving along quickly! Next week will be the last week for Zumba and Circus. Keep an eye out for information about the last Zumba and Circus days. (See what’s on in Term 3 page) I am very pleased to let Module 2 know that the Rugby League Development Officers will be back in Term 4 to work with them. Module 3 and Module 1 will be having fun with Circus.

I lost my words in a sunlit field.

Spelling Homework

Module 1

Jet, Allande, Taya, Scarlett, Ginja, Lola, Ben and Max;

for, four, big, small, large, little, over, under, use, more, less, top.

Module 2

Spelling rule - ‘i’ before ‘e’ except after ‘c’ when it rhymes with ‘see’. Exceptions: receive, ceiling.

Tiah and Pele - be, his, him, her, mine, our, your, this, that, see, look, with.

Module 3

One syllable words that end in a short vowel and one consonant, double the final consonant before adding a vowel suffix (ed, ing): eg. hop, hopping, hopped.

Kids Canteen is held every Wednesday. Students from Module 3 sell the “goodies” and parents are rostered to provide the food. It usually happens that each family provides something, a cake, slice, cup cakes etc twice during the year.
