Nick and I have fostered two

dogs previously and this week

we welcomed our first one in

Oklahoma. Through the Okla-

homa German Shorthaired Pointer (GSP) Res-

cue, we welcomed a male GSP. We’re calling

him Pete.

Pete was picked up as a stray by the Norman

Animal Shelter. Who knows what his experi-

ence of life has been before us? He probably

was a decent scavenger and kept himself

moving. He is quite thin and a bit afraid of

cars.

Pete keeps me smiling. He has an ever-present

interest in what is just beyond his nose. “Ohh,

that thing makes a noise. If I bite it, it oinks!”

“And that, it smells good. What does it taste

like?” While it isn’t always convenient to have

a 50 pound dog participating in my every

move, I’m thankful for the reminder of wonder.

Pete won-

ders and

investi-

gates. My

days

could use

some

more

wonder.

What

about

your’s?

BCC Kitchen

Lost & Found

The Hospitality Co-chairs have cleaned out

the Bethany Kitchen and found a few items

that do not belong to the church.

These items have been placed on the

counter for you to check and see if any

items belong to you. They will be happy to

have been found!

Please take a moment to check out the

Kitchen Lost and Found the next time you

visit Bethany.

“Nature is a gift from God and

every blade of grass is a sermon,”

a preacher told her summertime

congregation.

The next day, the minister was

mowing her lawn when a member of

the church came along. The parish-

ioner stood and watched his pastor

mow for a bit.

Then, nodding his

head in approval,

he said, “Way to

go, Pastor, cut’em

short!” anon.
