The general people I asked for their opinion on the qualities was my

family; where the ages range from 40-80. From the audience

feedback I received I found that my:

Strengths were:

Informative

Conventional

And my weaknesses were:

Entertaining

Eye Catching

I then posted the links on numerous social networking sites where the

majority of my feedback was from my target audience; Teens.

Strengths

Informative

Follows all the conventions of a documentary, radio trailer and print advert

Flows well between different interviews

Good relevance to the topic

Interviews are short and quirky, and interesting

Consistent camera work makes the work more professional

Creative title ‘short cuts’

Wide range of interviews and opinions

Good choice of music

Weaknesses

Include more about benefits of hair treatment and

why people value their hair so much that they are

willing to spend so much on it

More information on how they style their hair on a

daily basis

Rustly background noise

Volume changes

Include celebrity influences

Follows the

correct

conventions that

print adverts

should

Very professional,

looks like a real

print advert

Very creative main

image,

immediately you

can tell the topic of

the documentary

I think the editing

of the hair could

be a bit tighter

The main image is

very creative,

however I think you

should have

included even more

hair types

Love the main

image, but maybe

a boy version of the

hair as well would

have been even

better

To conclude, I found that my audience particularly liked the creativity of the title ‘Short Cuts’ which was made from hair and the wide range of interviews. However, content was the biggest weakness, my target audience said it was very informative and interesting, however some wanted more information about celebrities and also more from the Nigerian hairdresser interview. Some also commented on the rustling behind some of the interviews and the volume changes, which could have been improved. The print advert was said to follow all the correct conventions and my target audience immediately could tell what the topic of the documentary was through the creative main image.

The graph at the start showed that the 40-80 year old audience didn’t think it was very interesting or entertaining. However, looking at the actual target audience for my specific documentary (teenagers) the feedback was very positive in saying that they found it interesting. This shows that my documentary was successful in pleasing its intended target audience, which I am extremely happy with.
