• The APC control panel is equipped with a joystick and a rotary encoder combined with a touch screen which provides exellent ergonomic control of the rig.
• An E-stop on the rig is standard.
Enables one man operation• The unique positioner design makes setup fast and easy.
• Operation requires no moving of the wireline hoist, from vertical down to vertical up drilling.
• With all necessary drilling parameters the APC computer takes over control and maintains the penetration rate. It acts instantly on any change in rock formation that calls for adjustment in feed force, rotation speed or torque.
Modular design• There is a wide choice of selections regarding feed
frames, rotation units and possible options, in order to match a wide range of different applications.

Turn tableBy using the turn table, the drilling unit can be turned 360° horizontally in relation to the skid frame, en-abling easy rig set up in confined spaces.
APC CONTROL SYSTEM
A touch screen and a single control knob are provided for easy input and adjustment of control parameters. A joystick is provided for manual con-trol of wireline, fast travel, and rota-tion. The APC have functions such as automatic drilling of complete run, automatic rod running controlled with foot pedal, automatic wireline and in-pumping, powerful self-diag-nostics, screen display of manuals and parts lists, and remote trouble shooting. The weight of the APC panel is 24 kg (53 lb).
PHC CONTROL SYSTEM
The pilot hydraulic control system enables high flow and pressure while maintaining a compact and light design of the control panel.The PHC control panel contains the valves which control direction and speed (continuously variable) of ro-tation, fast travel and wireline hoist. The special design prevents release of the chuck before the clamp has fully gripped the rods and vice ver-sa. A power float system prevents thread wear when making and breaking rods. Gauges are provided for rotation pressure, bit weight, wa-ter pressure, water flow and an elec-tronic tachometer gives continuous readout of bit rpm. The weight of the panel together with hoses is 110kg (243 lb).

Rotation unitThe rotation unit is available in two sizes, A-N and B-H, they are easily interchangeable. The rotation unit consists of a hydraulic motor, a sealed gear box, a hollow spindle and an Atlas Copco patented hy-draulic chuck. The chuck grips the rod by hydraulic pressure, which is adjustable. The chuck jaws are of quick change type. The rotation speed is adjustable from the control console. The chuck and rod holder are synchronized. The B-H rotation unit is available with two different hydraulic motors to cover a large RPM-Torque area.

Power unitsThere are two different power units available, one electric and one diesel version. They have two variable flow hydraulic pumps, mount-ed in tandem. The electric version is supplied with a 130 liter (34,4 gal) oil tank, and the diesel version is equipped with a 120 liter (31,7 gal) oil tank. Both are equipped with a water type oil cooler and fil-ters. An air type of oil cooler is available as option for the electric ver-sion, and standard on the diesel version. Length of hoses between rig and power unit is 7 m (275”).

Optional eqipment and accessories
Bracing deviceDevice suitable for use in narrow tunnels and drifts. It allows simple anchoring of the feed frame between the floor and roof/wall of the gallery, drift or tunnel.
Wheel kits For both rig and power unit.
Wireline sheave For steep up hole drilling.
Air/Oil cooler Air cooled heat exchanger for cooling of the hydraulic oil.
Water collector The water collector seals against the rock face and allows collection of flush water and cuttings.
Casing bracket The casing bracket and casing clamps are used to help guide the rig on a casing tube.
Extra feed extension
With the optional 5 m feed extension tubes, the total length of the feed frame can be increased to 7,5 m. (Standard length 3,5–4,5 m.)
