Abbey Road Institute is a brand-new education initiative from the world famous Abbey Road Studios. Synonymous with excellence in recorded music for more than 80 years, Abbey Road’s continued success is due largely due to its staff and their knowledge.

Now my team will be able to share some of this expertise in a course which will provide first-class vocational training for people interested in forging a career in audio production and the music industry. If you share our passion for audio technology and music production, then Abbey Road Institute could be for you.

I look forward to hearing from our prospective students.

Luca BarassiManaging DirectorAbbey Road Institute London

OUR UNIQUE EDUCATION SYSTEM

We offer a fast paced 12 month course that concentrates on 3 main areas: audio engineering and acoustics, music theory and production, management and music business.

This approach ensures students leave us with a rounded view of the music industry and better equipped to thrive in the ever evolving world of audio production. Using our unique teaching method called Progressive Continuous Learning (PCL), we break modules down into short subjects and deliver them in a progressive logical manner, combining theory and practice. This differs from more traditional styles of teaching where programmes are delivered via self-contained, isolated modules. We have an apprenticeship approach to training where practical, ‘hands-on’ skills are developed and supported by the relevant theory delivered by industry professionals. Our students have exclusive access to our powerful studio workstations (One per student), allowing for the progressive fine tuning of skills and application of theory.

Our brand new, purpose-built studio facility is located within Abbey Road Studios and includes both a live recording space and professional standard control room. The Institute’s studio will be accessible as part of the teaching programme and students will also be able to use these facilities for extra curricular projects.

Our programme’s main difference is that it’s designed to allow our graduates immediate entry into the industry as professionals.

How do we do this? We provide far more extensive hands-on practical time than any other training facility, and we teach you the current way of working in a stu-dio by having many industry professionals give lectures and workshops. Our unique programme could be described as ‘a true apprenticeship’ where, at the end of the training the graduate becomes a true professional in the sound and entertainment business.
