Now is your chance! Acterra is taking advantage of the lovely Springweather and later daylight hours to offer Wednesday night Weed Warriors and Wonder Women(Wowkids 12 and up are also welcome.) From 6:00 - 8:00 PM every Wednesday starting April 2we will meet at the Gateway Facility on Pearson-Arastradero Preserve to conduct habitat

    restoration, get great exercise, and meet new friends! Participants will assist Acterra'sStewardship Program by spreading mulch, pulling weeds, clipping seed-heads of invasive plants,eradicating pioneer populations in sensitive areas, and caretaking planted native plants. Tools,training, gloves and snacks will be provided. Please bring your own refillable water bottles.Online RSVP's are not required, but if you can drop a line to [email protected] to let usknow you are coming, it will help us ensure to have enough materials for everyone. Spring is aGORGEOUS time to be on the Preserve, and evenings are particularly lovely because theweather is cooler and the animals start to come out! Take advantage of this convenient and funvolunteer opportunity to learn about our local ecology and do something good for the earth...and

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Announcement: The June 2008 Transformative Advocacy Delegation to the U.S. SouthwestTransformative Advocacy, a program of Women's Earth Alliance, seeks women public interestattorneys to join our upcoming Transformative Advocacy delegation to the U.S. Southwest!Women's Earth Alliance is a non-profit organization with the mission of strengthening anduniting women-led environmental initiatives around the world, and the TransformativeAdvocacy program convenes women environmental professionals with grassroots activists for

    journeys of conscious dialogue, experiential learning, and appropriate advocacy. The June 2008Transformative Advocacy delegation to the U.S. Southwest will convene women public interestattorneys with Native American women working for environmental justice and sustainability intheir communities. From June 7 17, our delegation will travel through the Southwest todialogue with Native American women environmental leaders, learn about the environmentalinjustices facing Native American lands and communities as well as the applicable legal regimes,and develop an understanding of the Native American environmental justice movement withrespect to the larger U.S. After the journey, our delegates will prepare a report sharing theirfindings, locating the issues at stake within a global context and making recommendations forfurther action. Delegates will also participate in the launching of the Women's Earth AllianceAdvocacy Network, an emerging network of attorneys and advocates committed to providingfocused technical assistance to grassroots women environmental leaders around the world.
