A completed application must be submitted for each individual seeking a Continuing Education Scholarship from the VFW Auxiliary. Each applicant must: Answer all questions on the application. I feel it is now, at this point in my life, it is time for me to move toward the fulfillment of some of my dreams and goals.” “I have spent the past year getting myself ready to return to school. My youngest daughter is 13 and I want to show her that you are never too old to do something if you have definite goals in mind and are determined to make them come true.” - Emma Raker Flynn, VFW Auxiliary #2966, Scotland, SD “I am studying to become a teacher because I want to work specifically in a low-income school district or in special education with at-risk students. These children are often seen as unteachable, and I want to provide them not only with the power and knowledge to read and write, but also the necessary tools to progress in life.” “Becoming an educator is rewarding. My goal as a teacher is to use real objects, real people and real experiences to connect students to events that happened throughout history. The best way to motivate students is to develop personal relationships and treat all students as unique individuals.
