One Decision Changed My Life

Like most people, I’ve had my share of ups and downs. And like most people I’ve made some poor decisions – and some great ones! One outstanding decision I made 17 years ago, was signing my Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant Agreement!

I can genuinely say I love my life and mean it – all because I said, “YES” to the Mary Kay Opportunity. I have Bronwyn Waterhouse, my Sharer to thank for that. She took the time to ASK ME; she saw something in me and knew that I would be right for Mary Kay – and that Mary Kay would be GREAT for me! I still remember that day and even now, when I’m recruiting, I do so knowing that I’m doing the right thing – offering other women the same opportunities as me.

“I’ve learnt that the choices we make day to day in those arenas reflect our outcome and our future.”

Life has had plenty of challenges and circumstances that could have stopped me along the way but I made a choice to build my business with the basics of BOOK, COACH, SELL and SHARE. That’s been another of my great decisions! I didn’t try to reinvent the wheel, I just worked with tried and tested methods and found out for myself that they really do work! I’m really committed to that simple process and I always lead the gorgeous women in my Unit to do the same.

My Mary Kay business has changed my life for the better. I know that what I put in, I get out. There’s no free lunch, I have to work at it. I also know, that by working at it, I can give myself a ‘pay-rise’ any time I want – and earn heaps of additional rewards that I’d never get elsewhere! So, my life today is abundant. My partner Paul and I love to travel; we have a debt-free lifestyle, filled with choices. I know my life is very different to how it could have been if I stayed in that 9-5 banking job!

My gorgeous teenage daughter, Sarah, is my purpose. It’s important to set a good example so that she knows that with commitment, discipline, and a can-do, positive attitude you can do more than just ‘make a living’; you can live a truly rich life.
