YOGA Yoga was a success! I hope everyone had a good time and enjoyed the yoga experience. For those who do not know, yoga meets every Thursday @ 2pm at our Center. The cost $5 for walk-in, or you can buy a 5 class card for $20 (1 free), or a 10 class card for $40(2 free). The class is limited to 20 people. You must sign up at the front desk. There is a $2.00 Non-Member fee due at the time you sign up! BREAKFAST AND LUNCH As we go into our third month with our new lunch program, I’d like to thank all the members who came and brought their friends to support our program. Without you, we wouldn’t be able to continue. Plus, I have heard all the compliments, and requests to have the “Reuben Sandwich”, “Eggplant Parmesan”, and Liver and Onions” more frequently. I will do my best to work them more fre-quently into the menu. Once again, thank you for joining us for breakfast, lunch, our activities and events. We do appreciate each and every one of you. THANK YOU ALL!
The Milford Senior Center is open to everyone over 50 regardless of color, creed, national origin, sex or sexual

TREASURER , DON ROARK Hel lo to everyone and here is the Treasurer 's Report for January . . . . as we start the 2nd half o f the current f iscal year :
The f inanc ia l heal th of the Center remains in very good shape overal l . In the table above, the revenue s tream "50/50 Raf f les" has been removed since that revenue is most of ten booked as par t of the funct ion to which i t is attached rather than being handled as a s tand -alone funct ion. Also, I changed "Redner ’s" to read "Breakfast Program" to encompass the var ious revenue sources involved wi th that program.
Membership President
Carol Winkler The Center is in need of volunteers for
the Welcome Desk, Lunch desk, and for
the Breakfast program. If you are interested in
volunteering for any of these positions please let
Brenda Coppock, Program Coordinator know as
soon as possible. Our Volunteers are very important
to the continued success of the Milford Senior
Center.
The Milford Senior Center Membership Association
will have election of officers for the upcoming two
years (May, 2017-April, 2019) in April. If interested in
running for an office, please let a member of the
nominating committee or the front desk know.
Positions for election are: President, Vice President,
Secretary and Treasurer.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day to everyone.

Limited Income Subsidy (Extra Help) – Anyone who has Medicare can get a Medicare prescription coverage. Some of you who have limited income and resources may already have the Limited Income Subsidy (Extra Help) to pay for the costs –monthly premiums, annual deductibles, and prescription co-payments—related to a prescription drug plan. The Extra Help is estimated to be worth about $4,000.00 per year. Many of you may qualify for this savings and do not even know it.
What qualifies a person for this “Extra Help”? You must live in the 50 states or the District of Columbia. For an individual your resources must be no more than $13,820.00. For a married couple living together the resources must be no more than $27,600.00, Resources are such things as stocks and bonds, and bank accounts. Your car, home or any life insurance are not
counted as resources An individual’s income can be no more than $18,090.00 or $24,360.00 for a married couple living together. There can be some cases where even if a person’s income is more than the allowable amounts, a person can get
some assistance. One example is if you support a family member. The recommendation would be for you to contact me and let me check.
If you have never checked to see if you are eligible for this subsidy do contact me so I can check for you. Should you be eligible for this program and have a problem with your prescription plan, you can be enrolled in a new one more than once outside of open enrollment. Another assistance program that is very helpful to anyone with a Medicare prescription drug plan is the Delaware Prescription Assistance Plan. Eligibility for this program is very different from the federal program. The guidelines for this program are:
Each person applies as an individual An individual must be a United States citizen or a lawfully admitted alien. The individual must be living in the State of Delaware. Each individual applying for DPAP must provide his/her Social Security number. The individual must be 65 or above or be a person between the ages of 19 and 64 who is receiving disability benefits under Title II of the Social Security Act. Any individual applying for DPAP must provide proof of enrollment in a Medicare Part D prescription drug plan. Any individual who wants to apply for DPAP must first apply for Limited Income Subsidy (LIS) known as “Extra
Help” Proof of the denial or approval notice for “extra help” must be included with the DPAP application. The individual must not have or be eligible for Medicaid. Income is the only thing looked at. It is $23,760.00 per person. This often changes each year usually in April. Countable income includes but is not limited to –
Social Security benefits as paid after the Social Security deduction Pensions as paid Wages-the net amount after deductions for taxes and FICA Interest/Dividends-gross amount Capital Gains-gross amount on stocks, mutual funds, bonds Alimony-as paid Rental income-gross rent paid minus 20% standard deduction Roomer/boarder-gross paid minus 10% standard deduction Self employment-countable income as reported to IRS Unemployment Compensation-as paid
DPAP will provide payment for Medicare Part D monthly premiums, yearly deductible, those drugs that fall into the Coverage gap and drugs that are excluded from Medicare Part D. Medicare Part D will be the primary coverage. If you are enrolled in DPAP and have difficulty with your Medicare prescription drug plan, you can be enrolled in a different Plan once each year outside of open enrollment, If you think you might be eligible for either of these plans, call me and make an appointment so we can do a review to see if you are eligible. I will help you with enrollment if you are eligible.
