This modular course, offered at Bethany College in Hepburn, is completely centered on the truth of Scripture and the Good News of Jesus Christ and how that needs to impact the way we live our lives as disciples of Jesus Christ. Thrive includes modules on Old Testament, New Testament, Apologetics, How to Read Your Bible, Making Disciples, Genesis 1-11, The Gospel for Real Life, Ministering to Youth and many others. In addition to daily classroom learning, the students have structured devotionals, chapel time, community building events and at least 2 weekly group ministry opportunities off campus. Our new year has begun, and we couldn’t be more energized and pleased by the arrival of nine new students who have been called to our program from a variety of places such as Creighton, Wynyard, Regina and Lethbridge. These students have begun to form a tight community and experience the benefit of having the personal care that our program offers. In their first month they will learn how to defend their faith, how to study scripture and zero in on the New Testament. They will also dive right into ministering to others twice a week. We simply can’t wait to see how God uses their willingness to step out in faith and take risks for Him. Our mission at Thrive is to help young adults become WHOLE and HOLY disciples of Jesus. Students are encouraged to live with Christ at the center of everything and to look up (love Him) and out (love others) daily. In these first years, we have seen God reward our efforts and use Thrive to truly transform young adults during their time in the program. Darryl Balzer, President

Gospel Fluency Workshop Saturday, September 28, 9am

at Horizon College & Seminary, Saskatoon, SK

Guest Speaker: Author Ben Connelly Go to skmb.ca for details/registration

What does it look like to be fluent in the gospel in the midst of everyday life and mission? The gospel is not just a sermon preached on a Sunday- it’s something we need to speak into all of life. Ben Connelly will teach a training on how to weave the gospel into all of life, with the goal of cultivating a fluency in the gospel so that we're equipped to speak the gospel to the real brokenness and longing of people’s souls in a way that they can hear—a way that sounds like the good news of Jesus for them and their present situations.Who should attend? This event is not just for church pastors and leaders. This training is designed specifically for all those in the church. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Speaker: Ben Connelly, US Director – C2C Collective After 19 years on pastoral teams, Ben now gets to serve disciple- makers, planters, and churches/organizations who have a desire for sending. He has written/contributed to several books and publications, has taught university classes and led church- planting for Soma North America, and serves as an elder in The City Church, which he planted in 2009. Ben lives in Fort Worth, TX with Jessica and their three kids.

First Nations Ministry Workshop – Nov 8-9 Mino-maawanji’itiwag is Saulteaux for "coming together in a good way." This November we will gather again for a unique opportunity to learn, connect, and grow, reconciling the past and journeying towards Contextualized Ministry. Join Indigenous Jesus followers and people ministering in an Indigenous context. Have You Wondered? · Can a person be both fully Indigenous and fully Christian? What does that look like? · How can a non-Indigenous person mentor an Indigenous person? · What does Indigenous leadership look like? · What difference does it make that Jesus was a tribal boy raised under colonization? · Why are Indigenous peoples marginalized in similar ways across the globe? · Are there legitimate boundaries in contextualization? If so, who sets those boundaries? · Is the Indigenous drum, smudging, or other traditional practices demonic? · Why can’t “they” get over it? · How can Christian ministries present Jesus in a good or better way? Purpose: An opportunity to Come Together with Indigenous and non-Indigenous believers. · · Hearing from those who have journeyed before us, offering their perspectives on walking the Jesus Way, while being both Indigenous and Christian. This gathering is an opportunity to spend two days with Indigenous leaders who have journeyed with these and other questions. Let's learn how to come together in a good way! This gathering is being led by many in the NAIITS community – Indigenous Christians like Ray Aldred, Shari Russel, and Terry Leblanc. Location: Living Hope Alliance Church (Regina).
