REMEMBRANCE DAY

Our annual Remembrance Day assembly will occur on November 10th at 2:00 pm. A number of our students will be performing songs and poems. Artwork will be on display. We are very lucky to have the Palmerston Legion joining us as well. Parents are welcome to attend our Remembrance Day assembly. Mrs. Dyer is putting together a slideshow of the relatives or family members of our students and staff who either have served in the Armed Forces in the past, or are currently serving now. The hope is to help our students build a personal connection to Remembrance Day and the reason we observe it. If you have a photograph of a member (or members) of your family that have served, or are currently serving, and you would like to have them included in the slideshow there are two ways you can share it with us.

1. Scan or take a picture of the picture and email it to Mrs. Dyer at [email protected] . Please include in your email:

a) your child/children’s names b) the name of the person in the photograph c) how the person in the picture is related to them d) any other information you want to share like where and when they served or are serving

2) Send the photograph to school with your child and Mrs. Dyer will scan it and send it back to you. We know these

photographs are precious and we promise to take extremely good care of them. Please make sure you include a piece of paper with the photograph with this information:

i) your child’s name a. the name of the person in the photograph b. how the person in the photograph is related to your child c. any other information you want to share like where and when they served or are serving.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Mrs. Dyer at the school. Thank you so much for sharing a piece of your family history with us!

BUS STUDENTS If your child rides a bus please send a note or phone the office if he/she is not going home on the bus. If we do not have a note or phone call he/she will have to get on the bus.

GOING OUT FOR LUNCH Students who do not normally go home at second nutrition break but are going to leave the school property at second nutrition break for lunch must bring a note with them in the morning. Phone calls will not be accepted.

MESSAGES DURING THE DAY During the day messages are received at the office from parents to alert children regarding a change of arrangements at the end of the day. If at all possible, please make arrangements in the morning and communicate the expectations with the children. Of course, if there is an emergency Mrs. Head will assist with getting a message to the children.

Our goal is to have children go home to a safe and supervised environment.
