Taking place during Singapore Maritime Week 2012 and following on from the success of Sea

Asia and Middle East Workboats, comes a new three-day event specifically targeted at Asia’s

offshore marine and workboat industries.

Singapore’s strategic location, good infrastructure and pro-business environment supports the

offshore sector in servicing a global clientele. The active collaboration of both public and private

parties has helped to draw global operators of drilling rigs and Floating Production Storage

Offloading vessels to Asia’s doorstep.

This represents significant opportunities for shipyards, OSV companies and offshore logistics

providers and Seatrade Offshore Marine Asia will not only showcase the latest technologies,

designs and solutions in the exhibition, but also, through the conference explore what the future

holds for Asia’s offshore industry.

SECURE YOUR PLACE AT THE CONFERENCE

Running alongside the exhibition is a conference that will explore what the future holds for

Asia’s offshore industry. The conference offers you a unique opportunity to listen and debate

with international industry experts who have gathered in Singapore for this event.

Seminar on CSR activities for the Shipping Industry

Date: 26 April 2012 Venue: Marina Mandarin, Venda Ballroom, Level 5 Time: 1400 – 2000hrs (Including cocktail reception)

The growing shortage of seafarers has become an issue of global concern in light of the recent rapid

growth of the maritime industry, as predicted by “BIMCO/ISF Manpower 2010 Update”, JITI/NF’s

study, etc. It is broadly pointed out that the reason for this shortfall is that fewer young people are

attracted to the seafaring profession and young seafarers want to move on to land-based jobs. One

fundamental solution is to improve the public image and status of the shipping industry by developing

a corporate social responsibility agenda that will attract potential young seafarers to the maritime

profession.

Key issues for a shipping company which is considering introduction/improvement of its CSR activities

are what CSR means and what kind of CSR activities it engages in. This seminar will provide a forum

to address these issues.

Please refer to the agenda on the next page.
