Committed to celebrating their culture, Anjani, Avani, and Riya have been mentored at the Vivekananda Vidyapith, a school dedicated to the development of the life and character of young adults. Believing that each individual is potentially divine, the Vidyapith provides an environment that encourages each individual to uncover his or her energy and talent while pursuing the noble path of character building. Anjani, Avani, and Riya have been blessed with both passion and talent for the ancient South Indian classical art form of Bharatanatyam. These three young women have studied under the tutelage of Guru Suba Ramesh Parmar. It is their honor to invite you to attend this Bharatanatyam Arangetram to celebrate their culture, hard work, and continued pursuit of mastery in the arts.

Anjani Solanky, 16, is an accomplished Bharatanatyam dance student who has immersed herself for the past 7 years

studying South Indian Classical Dance and the creative process of linking the mind, body and spirit. Anjani has performed in many dance competitions and has been a member of several

winning teams. A rising junior at Wayne Hills High School, Anjani has been recognized by both the NHS and the NAHS for her academic

accomplishments. Her extracurricular activities have earned her a Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do and a spot on the Wayne Hills Track Team. Anjani is passionate about pursuing the arts through drawing and playing guitar and of course dancing.

Avani Gohil, 14, is a natural talent and is very passionate about Bharatanatyam. She has been learning this art form for 6 years. Avani recently graduated with honors from middle school and looks forward to matriculating at Wayne Valley High School this fall. Avani strives to be well-rounded in all of her endeavors; she divides her time away from school by playing tennis, swimming, learning guitar, and studying Indian Classical music.

Riya Solanky, 13, is a dedicated Bharatanatyam dance student who has been learning this ancient art for 6 years. Riya will be entering 8th grade at Schuyler Colfax Middle School this fall. Musically inclined, Riya plays both the flute and saxophone and has performed in many programs through her school band. Riya is most clearly defined by her compassionate spirit, which manifests itself in her love and care of animals.
