Hi to you all,
As we commence our April - June Term, we would like to welcome all of the newpupils who will be joining our music classes and, of course, a welcome back to all ofour returning pupils.
We continue to update and we are in the process of redesigning our website, whereyou can download your tutorial booklets, which you will need for your classes. If youare a beginner download the Preliminary Grade Book for the instrument you want tolearn. This will introduce you to the first tunes you will learn and lead you towards thenext step-by-step level of progression.
For those of you that have attended classes previously or if you already have someplaying experience, you can also download tutorial booklets ranging from Grade 2 -Grade 8 that are relevant if you that are learning to play a traditional instrument.
All of our classes are designed to make the learning of an instrument a fun andenjoyable experience, however, they are also structured to offer opportunities to gainaccredited qualifications, if you choose to develop your skills further. Additionally, weregularly organise concert performances where you will be invited to participate andshowcase your talents.
NEW MOBILE PHONE PRACTICE
We are introducing the practice of havingno mobile phone use by pupils duringclasses, in order to avoid tutorialdistraction and prevent the risk of cyberbullying. We will of course allow the use ofmobile phones in emergencies and for therecording of tunes that pupils are learning.

Structure of Classes / Grades / Books
As always, improving quality is high on our agenda. Much energy has gone intodeveloping the tutorial and progressive structures within our classes. This hasentailed a revision on the delivery of classes in order follow the graded syllabusrequirements of the London College of Music, Trinity Board, Registry of Guitar Tutors
Rockschool. These accreditation bodies provide opportunities for our pupils togain recognised qualifications.
Our classes are organised through a structure that will take pupils through the basicbeginners levels and lead into graded progression classes that meet the syllabusrequirements of the accreditation boards ie: Beginners - Grade 1 - Grade 8 - andbeyond to Diploma levels.
We have produced our own beginners' tutorial books for tin whistle, fiddle and guitart h a t y o u c a n d o w n l o a d f o r f r e e f r o m o u r w e b s i t e -www.andersonstownmusicschool.com
Once you have acquired a higher level of playing, you will be required to buy thetutorial grade books for other instruments, such as Guitar, Piano, Drums, etc. Weare unable to supply these but most Music Shops should have them in stock or checkoutAmazon.

Get the INSTRUMENT of your dreamsfrom as little as £10 per month
If you want to buy the musical instrument of your dreams then Take It Away may be the answer.Supported by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland, Take it away is an interest free loan schemewhich spreads the cost of buying a musical instrument. Customers can borrow anything from £100to £2,000 and spread the cost, interest free, over 9 months (with a 10% deposit).
As well as buying your chosen musical instrument, you can also add on additional items to yourTake It Away loan to help ensure you have everything you need to get playing such as an instrumentcase, amplifier, strings, reeds, sheet music and delivery or set-up charges. If the shop where you'reusing Take It Away offers tuition, you could also add on a block of lessons to your loan. There arecurrently four outlets in Northern Ireland offering the scheme to customers.
Matchetts Music, in Belfast, recently partnered with Uilleann piper, teacher and instrument maker,Patrick O'Hare, to offer customers the opportunity to purchase Patrick's high-quality pipes throughthe Take ItAway scheme.
