Diwali Assembly

A special Diwali Assembly was presented by the students of Grade 3 F. Students advocated and shared various recommendations on how to celebrate an eco-friendly Diwali at the same time campaigning to a just cause on reducing pollution and reusing things. An enthralling dance performance put up by students of grades 3 and 4 trained by Ms. Shiny Melvin created added a festive mood to the assembly.

GEMS Our Own Indian School celebrated the 44th anniversary of the

Federation of the beloved United Arab Emirates with much pomp

and splendor. The students paid tribute to The Godfather and the

leader, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al-Nahyan, the builder of the

Emirates and stressed on the achievements of the country. The

students were decked in the traditional Arab costumes in

commemoration of this great day and provided an audio – visual

treat for the audience with their performances.

The celebrations commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran

followed by Prophet’s hadeeth

The students were quite informative about the history of UAE and

shed light on the various process involved in the strong collaboration

of this great nation under the patronage Of Sheikh Zayed. The UAE

has a long history, a history that extends well beyond the last 43

years. This great nation was created by few with the prosperity of

many. It is now a nation that has been made up of faces from

different places, bringing with them important skills, cultures, and

personalities from every corner of the globe. The success of the

nation today and tomorrow has been and will continue to be

through the collective strength of the many.

The students extolled the vision of Sheikh Zayed which was the

catalyst for the UAE as we know it today.

The program was further embellished by the traditional dance and

song by our talented dancers and singers.

UAE National Day

The children of KG 1C and KG 2 F had a special assembly on peace . Their head bands showed the symbol of peace and they sang a beautiful song too. This filled peace in every ones heart . The assembly was well enjoyed by the parents.

Diabetes Day Awareness

Diabetes- There is no need to sugar coat such an enduring issue. The impact of its ever growing footprint

cannot be understated. About 1/3rd of all people suffering from diabetes are not even aware they have the

disease! Thus, the students of 10D decided to promote awareness along with the rest of the world based

on World Diabetes Day, this Wednesday in the school section assembly. This is definitely something you

should know about, as over 30 million diabetics in the world are aged under 20.

SPECIAL ASSEMBLY ON “RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS

An excellent Assembly on “Random Acts of Kindness” was put up by the students of Grade 3 E.

The students conveyed the importance of kindness through a skit. Doing kind deeds for others for no reason has so many rewards. In an instant, the best of our humanity and heart comes forward. Acts of kindness connect our hearts and build bridges.

Soaking in the spirit of Christmas, we at Our Own celebrated the festival in advance. Overriding every other emotion, a wave of cheer enveloped the school. Christmas is a time to give and forgive. Celebrated everywhere as a joyous family affair, we too, at School celebrated Christmas as a happy time for our children. Depicting the true essence of love, joy and peace, children sang Christmas carols. “Rudolph the red nose reindeer” ,”Dashing through the snow……” filled the air with festivity and good cheer.

The messages shared by the SLT gave a sense of authenticity to the festive season. The messages were interspersed with carol singing by teachers. The precious gifts of hope, peace, joy and love are the gifts of Christmas. In turn, we must do similar for those less beholden than ourselves.

Christmas Celebrations

All the students were asked to display and speak about their models based on the theme transport. The students spokeenthusiastically and exhibited great confidence. Thank you dear parents for your support and engagement.
