The Subtests > Verbal Comprehension

Assesses the ability to comprehend written information. The assessment contains a series of single passages followed by questions (true/false/cannot say and multiple choice) which need to be answered based on the information presented.

The Subtests > Verbal ComprehensionHOW TO ORGANIZE YOUR WORKSPACE

Desktop • Keep essentials only on your desktop. Essentials are: computer, telephone, lamp, note paper

and your current project. • Make sure your telephone is easy to answer and comfortable to use when talking and taking

notes.

Supplies • Put supplies in a supply drawer in easy reach of your desk. • Consider a cabinet, closet, or container for bigger supplies like file folders, ring binders and

envelopes. • Group similar supplies together and label all containers.

Workspace • Keep your wastebasket within easy reach. Use one that is large enough for a week’s worth of

trash. Line it with a plastic bag.

Two Types of TestsComprehension aptitude tests can be divided into two types:

1. (Single) comprehension aptitude2. Swift comprehension aptitude




The format and level of the tests are the same and the only difference is the method of delivery and length of the test.

Method of delivery: While the Swift comprehension aptitude will always be delivered via the internet, the Single comprehension aptitude (usually simply referred to as: “Comprehension aptitude”) can be delivered either over the internet or through a hard-copy supervised version.




Length of test: While the Swift comprehension aptitude will have an 9.5 minutes time limit, the Comprehension aptitude will have a 38 minutes time limit.

Test Presentation and Experience

You may be asked to sit through the swift test OR the single test.




You may also be asked to sit only one of the subtests: either verbal comprehension, numerical comprehension or error checking. Usually when asked to sit a single subtest it will be the long version (16 minutes).





You may be asked to sit a self-administered, online format of the test or undergo a supervised hard-copy version.
