between “the orient”& “the occident”.”

Edward Said summarized orientalism:-

“My contention is that orientalism is fundamentally a political doctrine willed over

the orient, because the orient elided the orients difference with it’s weakness…..As a cultural apparatus oriental will to truth, and

knowledge.”
