CONCEPT

The use of wood in furniture and home decorating applications has become increasingly popular. However, massive wood may not always be the right solu-tion with regard to ecological concerns. We at Unilin came up with a concept that fulfills both natural and decorative aspirations simultaneously.

Evola is a groundbreaking new collection of realistic looking melamine based decorative panels on a chipboard support. The lifelike appearance of the wood designs is attained through an advanced production process allowing to press the wood structure and depth into the top layer.

Thanks to the outspoken heights and lows in Evola’s surface and the combination of matte and glossy accents, the wood grain, flowers, mirrors, knots, small cracks and fissures all stand out realistically.

The Evola concept perfectly combines the warm look and feeling of real wood with the resilience of melamine and the strength of chipboard. The Evola collection consists of 3 basic oak designs, Royal Oak, Heritage Oak and Minnesota Oak, each of them available in multiple colours. They bring the ultimate nature experience into the stylish home interior.

ROYAL OAKRoyal Oak brings a mixture of classic and rustic moods, sporting lifelike wood flowers, mirrors and knots with a tangible embossed structure . As in the case of real wood, the uniqueness and individual character of the wood mirrors is highlighted by their glossy finishing. Cracks and knots on the other hand are emphasized by their matte finishing.

HERITAGE OAKHeritage Oak, with its distinctive design and weathered look, contrasts well with the austerity of modern architecture. Its authentic appearance also has full play in timeless classic interiors. Lifelike cracks, deep structures and small imperfections give Heritage Oak the telltale characteristics and typical aspects of reclaimed oak.

MINNESOTA OAKThe rustic look of Minnesota Oak with its lush flower drawings and small knots is truly breathtaking. Matte and shiny parts stand for a very lively and realistic appearance. Its warm colours and natural shades are timeless, never losing their appeal. Thanks to its warm and dark tones, Minnesota Oak has become an instant hit in the furniture market.

All visual elements of the design such as cracks, knots, grain and other realistic imperfections perfectly match the registered embossed structure. This process has been achieved by an advanced production technique making use of high resolution inspection cameras. SUSTAINABILITY

Forests must be protected since trees can filter substantial amounts of C02 outof the atmosphere. This is why we make intelligent use of wood and, when appropriate, recycled wood in the fabrication process of our chipboard panels. Furthermore we reduce the negative impact of traditional road transport by truck on two levels: we source the wood from forests in the vicinity of our production plants and we favour moving it by barge.Our own biomass plant produces clean energy with waste wood from the produc-tion lines. All in all, calculations prove we are doing very well: the net contribution from our products and fabrication processes to global warming is definitely nega-tive. This means that more CO2 is absorbed from the atmosphere than emitted during manufacture and transport of our panels.

In addition, all wood used in the fabrication process is fully PEFC-labeled.
