volunteer news
David is a great volunteer! His warm, friendly personality draws a crowd so volunteering with him is like spending quality time with dozens (and dozens) of people while promoting the event. He can really wind up the crowd and has them having a blast playing our ping pong game.
We are fortunate to have such a wonderful group of volunteers promoting the event and David is top notch with everyone he meets.

Volunteer of the Month – David Logan
Lana Sharkey and fellow volunteers were out in full force to distribute ticket and event information throughout the day. And, they’ll be doing lots more of the same in communities around the province this fall, with a new curling season set to take to the ice.
Saint John Dragon Boat Festival
David is a Grade 7 teacher at River Valley Middle School. He has been teaching for 25 years. He is a “social curler” these days but curled competitively years ago. David’s enjoys golf and has recently turned in his canoe for a kayak and enjoys paddling in the Nerepis River.

Interest in billeting volunteers? It is surprising how far volunteers travel to work at an event. The Host Committee is in need of generous people willing to open their homes to volunteers of the Ford World Women’s Curling Championship. We expect local accommodations to be at a premium and want to make sure there are places to stay for volunteers who journey to Saint John this winter. It is a chance to meet fellow fans for 10 days of curling excitement.
Would you consider being a billet home?
