TRANSCRIPT

Proof of Vladamir Propp’s theory on narritive using:

The Hero

The main hero of Guardians of the Galaxy is Star-Lord (Peter Quill). He is an outlaw, who collects junk from all over the galaxy. He finds a metal sphere called the ‘Orb’, but he later finds out that it is very sought after and extremely dangerous.

The Villain

The main villain of Guardians of the Galaxy is Ronan the Accuser. He is a rogue Kree commander who wanted the Orb for its contents, an infinity star, which would make him very powerful. Star-Lord and his friends (the guardians) have to stop Ronan from attaining the infinity star and destroying the galaxy.

The HeroineIn the Guardians of the Galaxy, the heroine or reward to Star-Lord is two things. One is his friends. At the end of the quest he is rewarded with new friends, who become his new family. But he also gains honor and respect from people who used to recognise him as a criminal.

The Father

The father of Guardians of the Galaxy is Corpsman Dey. After their efforts, He wipes the databases of all the Guardians’ crimes, and appoints them the official Guardians of the Galaxy, as a reward for saving the galaxy.

The HelperThe helpers are Star-Lord’s friends, Gamora, Rocket, Drax, and Groot. They assist Peter on his quest with the Orb, and act as his sidekicks along the journey.

The Donor.

The donor in Guardians of the Galaxy could be the Orb, which sets Star-Lord on his quest to get it safe and secure. However, it could also be the Collector, as he tells Star-Lord the true powers of what is inside the Orb.

The Mentor

The mentor in Guardians of the Galaxy is Yondu, who adopts Peter from a young age and raises him to become the infamous Star-Lord. Later in the film he also assists Star-Lord in getting the Orb to a safe place, to be contained.
