Geographical aspects

The Tuscany marks the beginning of the central area of Italy, bordering to the north with the Emilia-Romagna, Liguria to the northwest and to the east with Marche and Umbria. The boundary is the south Lazio, and the Tyrrhenian Sea to the west its limit.

The Climate

Tuscany has a Mediterranean climate in the coast and continental interior. The average annual temperature is 16 º C. Winter is quite strict.

In the topography of the region, dominated by hills and hills (66.5%) and the important mountain formations (25.1%). The lowland areas are relatively few (8.4%).

Ponte Vecchio

Arched medieval bridge over the Arno River in Florence, Italy, is famous for having a quantity of stores (jewelers) over the entire board.

Built in ancient Rome, it was originally made of wood.

Destroyed by floods in 1333, it was rebuilt in 1345 with a project designed by Taddeo Gaddi.
