“The City’s own recent audit ofits stormwater departmentrevealed a long history of failingto prioritize stormwater infras-tructure and management prac-tices needed to protect clean water,public health, and our beaches andstreams,” said Coastkeeper execu-tive director and managing attor-ney Matt O’Malley. “These failureswere also evident in the City’s han-dling of its own facilities, which foryears have been polluting MissionBay and other local waterwayswhere children, families, andwildlife depend on clean water.”

Early last year, Coastkeeper andCERF observed that the City was

discharging stormwater ladenwith toxic pollutants, includingbacteria from human waste, dis-solved metals, and excess nutrientsdirectly into local waters duringrainstorms.

The investigations identified pos-sible impacts to Rose Creek, SanClemente Creek, Mission Bay,Tijuana River, and ultimately, thePacific Ocean. The groups noted toCity officials that pollutant levelsleaving the Miramar Landfill andentering into Mission Bay were thehighest they had seen from anysingle facility in the county.

His music is hard to catego-rize, ranging as it does from tradi-tional topical folk to acoustic hip-hop, but his tunes are alwayslyrically clever with plenty ofhooks.
