INDIA’S FIRST COMPREHENSIVE STUDY ON JOB SEEKERS’ PREFERENCES AND BEHAVIOR

METHODOLOGY
CENTER FOR TALENT RESEARCH, ON BEHALF OF MYPARICHAY, CONDUCTED A NATIONWIDE ONLINE OMNIBUS SURVEY OF 6,740 ADULTS WHO ARE PART OF THE INDIAN WORKFORCE. THE SURVEY WAS ELECTRONICALLY SENT BETWEEN NOV 5-9, 2012. THE SURVEY INCLUDED QUESTIONS ON CURRENT EMPLOYMENT STATUS, JOB SEARCH BEHAVIOUR AND PREFERENCES AND THE USE OF SOCIAL NETWORKS TO FIND JOB OPPORTUNITIES .
OF THE 6,740 MEMBERS OF THE WORKFORCE, 85% HAD AT LEAST ONE SOCIAL NETWORK PROFILE AND 265 WERE CURRENTLY EMPLOYED BUT NOT OPEN TO A NEW JOB.
RESPONDENTS FOR THIS SURVEY WERE RANDOMLY SELECTED FROM SHINE.COM DATABASE AND MYPARICHAY NETWORK. PRIOR CONSENT TO PARTICIPATE IN ONLINE SURVEYS SUCH AS THIS WAS SOUGHT FROM THE RESPONDENTS.

WORKFORCE: ALL PARTICIPANTS IN THE LABOR MARKET: CURRENTLY EMPLOYED + UNEMPLOYED AND LOOKING
JOB SEEKER: ALL THOSE ACTIVELY SEEKING WORK OR OPEN TO A NEW JOB, BOTH CURRENTLY EMPLOYED AND UNEMPLOYED
