COPD Workshop

After completing this workshop you should be able to:■ Describe the Analysis (A), Design (D), Development (D), Implementation (I), Evaluation (E) process■ Given instructional material, apply the 4 design best practices described in the C.R.A.P. principle.■ Given different learners, recognize when to apply supplantive vs. generative strategies ■ Given instructional objectives, recognize how to apply good design principles for procedural learning

COPD WorkshopOpening Activity

Should you have a framework? Why?

What is your framework?

What are the main elements you need to consider?

Scenario (3min): You are presenting a Workshop on COPD. There are 10 students/patients planning to attend. In order to prepare, design, and deliver an effective workshop, what do you need to know?

COPD WorkshopThe A.D.D.I.E. Model

The A.D.D.I.E. model is a framework used to guide you in instructional design process.

COPD WorkshopThe C.R.A.P. Principle

These are the four basic principles of design:

• Contrast

• Repetition

• Alignment

• Proximity

Once you name them, you’ll begin to see them everywhere!

Although I will be explaining these separately, they are all interconnected. (Canadian Tire)
