MERRY MUSTANG CHRISTMAS
The December meeting of the SENCMC was held December 14 at
Bluewater Grill, at Wrightsville Beach. Our meeting was called to order by
President Kurt Miller Sr. Jessie Lisane prayed to bless our food, our club, and
our nation. Kurt reminded us to remember the family members that our
club members have lost over the last year, and to keep them all lifted up at this
holiday season.
Our special guests Elizabeth and Kenny Barnes, and Leon Rooks were
recognized. We had two members present who are celebrating birthdays in
December. Happy Birthday to Mary Nichols, and Terry Thompson. We also
had one couple present who are celebrating their wedding anniversary in De-
cember, Happy Anniversary to Judi and Larry (Mitch) Mitchell.
Kurt also took this opportunity to thank several members for their ser-
vice to the club. John Talatinian was recognized for his work as our MCA
representative and for his willingness to set up our new website. South-
eastenNCMustang.com The website has space for photos and other infor-
mation so please get busy and take pictures for our website. John would like
to post a picture of the mustang owned by each of our members. If you have
more than one Mustang please send more than one picture. Send them to
john.talatinian@hp.com and he will get them posted on the new website.
Dena Cupsta and Emily Griffith were recognized for all the photos
they take at all of our events and meetings and for posting them on Facebook
for everyone to enjoy. Dena has also kept us all informed of shows and events
that Mustang owners and car enthusiast will enjoy. Thank you so much Dena.
Emily was thanked for stepping into the job of newsletter staff, as the new sec-
retary she will be continuing this job, so any information of pictures you
would like to see in the newsletter should be sent to her email,
ggriffith@ec.rr.com
Kim Smith graciously volunteered to fill all the goodie bags for our
show this year. She had them ready to go the morning of the show. Thank
you so much Kim this was a huge job and made things at the show run very
smoothly. Kurt also thanked every member who was there to help with our show in September. It would not be possible for us to host a show without the help of all of our members. Thank you all for everything that you did to make our show such a success.

MERRY MUSTANG CHRISTMAS CONTINUED
For the past few years Dick Steinkopf has been the member to organize our Christmas banquet. We do appreciate this and we are pleased to announce that Dick has made arrangements for our party to be held here in 2015. Several members were applauded for their efforts that went above and beyond this year. Jessica Goff joined us in the spring and she stepped up to be an active and helpful member. She was the mas-termind behind our Team Katrina shirts for the show and she and her friend Jonathan Bryan stepped into the chairman position for our games at the show. Jessica we do thank you. Kurt presented Jessica a plaque to recognize her service to us. Bruce Sandy was instrumental in the organization of our show and in acquiring the location for our show. Bruce we do thank you for all you did to make our show possible. Kurt presented a check to Elizabeth and Kenny Barnes for the Women of Hope organization which is one of our charities. We have several club members who have been treated for cancer so we know how important it is for these patients and their families to have the support of those around them during their treatments. Katrina and Bruce also received a check from the sale of the Team Katrina shirts to help with the cost of her treatment. Kurt presented a special award to Terry for his service to our club. All of the outgoing officers,
Carrie Morrell, Greg Griffith, Kurt Miller Sr., JC Edwards, Susan Edwards, and Ed Malone all received
plaques for their service to SENCMC. Kurt then introduced the new officers for the 2015-2016 term.
Terry Thompson, President Colwell Smith, Vice President Gloria Thompson, Treasurer Emily Griffith, Secretary and newsletter editor/staff Clint Morrell, Member at Large Kurt Miller Sr., Past President The Les Joyner Award, Mustanger of the year, is presented to the member who has shown the special Mustang spirit. This is a special award and given to a truly outstanding member each year. This year the recipient of the award is Clint Morrell. Congratulations Clint this is a well-deserved award for all of your work and your willingness to step up and help whenever and wherever the need arises. Kurt Miller, our outgoing President, then thanked the club for the opportunity to serve as club President. He reminded us that we are more than a car club, we are family and blessed to Spend time together and enjoy the adventures that come with being club members. Our January meeting will be held on January 18, 2015 at 3:00PM at Holland Shelter Fish Camp. Terry then explained the rules for our Dirty Santa game. The fun began as gifts were opened and stolen, and laughter filled the room. The meeting was adjourned with a Merry Christmas being wished to all.

OUR MUSTANGER OF THE YEAR
I would like to thank everybody in the club for awarding me with Mus-
tanger of the Year. I really enjoy being a member of SENCMC since I joined in
2009 even though it feels more like a family than a club. I look forward to many
more years the club along with meeting other Mustang and Car Enthusiast. I was
honestly surprised by getting the award. I look forward to seeing the club grow
more and I really appreciate the members in the club who will help others.
A WORD FROM OUR OUTGOING PRESIDENT
To my fellow SENCMCers:
These past two years as your president have flown by. As I look back upon my tenure, all I see are the times when each of you has stepped up to accomplish something that made this club bet-ter. Sometimes it was physically performing a task, other times it was a thought or idea that sparked into a plan, still other times it was merely a kind word that lifted my spirits or made my day just a little brighter. Whatever part you have personally played in my time as president, I want to thank you for
playing it.
I have been, and continue to be, blessed by each of you. As I said when I was elected in that special election nearly two years ago, (and I borrowed it from a previous president, really) - this is less a club than a family. Brought together as friends by our passion for Mustangs, but melded into a family
through the kindness, thoughtfulness, and willingness to serve that each of us have within.
I hope that I have been worthy of the title you bestowed on me, and remain in your service as a past
president. Thank each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart.

A WORD FROM OUR INCOMING PRESIDENT
Welcome to 2015. Happy New Year to all our members. To say I saw me taking the helm of the club
again is an understatement. We've had great leadership over the last 6 years since I was last here. Many thanks
to our past presidents, Susan Edwards, JC Edwards and our outgoing president Kurt Miller and all of their
support officers. It's because of these members that the club keeps growing.
Many thanks to Dick Steinkopf for pulling off another great Christmas dinner at the Bluewater
Grille. Fifteen years and running as our party host and coordinator. For those that were not able to attend our
end of the year event you missed a great time. I hope you are able to attend in 2015. I hear someone's famous
banana pudding will be making a triumphant return in 2015. Also during our Christmas dinner we announced
our Les Joyner Memorial Mustanger of the Year recipient. Congratulations to Clint Morrell on be selected to
receive this very prestigious recognition. I hope to provide the opportunity for everyone to achieve this award
which is the culmination of a years hard work, dedication and selflessness to the club and our hobby.
Many members over the years have asked they can receive this award. Those members are not here an-
ymore, not because they asked but because they saw the award as a prize you win like a car show trophy. This
award is not a competition among our members but is a reflection of a member for being themselves throughout
the year and doing what comes naturally to them. All one needs to do is view the list of recipients on the award
to have a glimpse of the qualities of our membership that have kept this club going. Is it nice to receive this
award, sure. Don't set your goal on receiving this award, just be yourself and enjoy the benefits of the club and
have fun.
Speaking of fun, I have been asked what are we going to do this year. Well, honestly that depends on
our membership. The leadership of the club can promote their owns ideas of fun or we can do what you want to
do. I tend to think doing what the membership has an interest in will keep members active throughout the
year. Whether its attending car shows, cruise ins, cookouts/pig pickins, parades or dyno days, if there is enough
interest then we can plan on making it happen. Typically the first few months of the year are the slow peri-
od. Its cold out, gets dark early and just plain dull. By the time March and April get here we are all ready to
get out and do things. July and August are just too darn hot then September and October roll in and its nice to
slow down. By the time we roll into November and December we are preparing for time with our families. Our
goal this year will be to have fun with the time we have together. Not everyone will have the same definition of
fun but just like our variety of meeting locations allows everyone a chance to drive great distances, our activities
will give everyone a chance to have fun. So let us know what you would like to do and if its doable and we can
work it in everyone's schedule we will do it.
In closing I want to thank our upcoming officers who will be leading the club in 2015-2016. Please wel-
come Colwell Smith as our VP, Emily Griffith as Secretary, Gloria Thompson as Treasurer and our Member at
Large, Clint Morrell. Please thank our outgoing officers for their continued support of the club; Kurt Miller,
president, Greg Griffith, VP, Cara Morrell, secretary and Ed Malone, Member at Large.
I look forward to seeing you all throughout the upcoming year and having as much fun as we can.
Terry
To the member who brought the Rudolph slippers to the Dirty Santa gift exchange,
I want to thank you so much for the slippers. I was able to make certain that I am the forever owner of
the slippers and I am already enjoying them. They are perfect for me. I will wear them as long as they
last and I wanted you to know that they are indeed a valued gift for me. Thank you.
I love my gift,
Emily Griffith

THANK YOU FROM A VERY HAPPY MEMBER
PRAYER REQUESTS AND PRAISES
At this joyous time of the year we all need to be aware of all the many blessings we
all have received this past year. Many of us have received special blessings and all of us
have the blessing of the friendships of our club.
We need also to keep in mind the members of our club struggling with health issues.
Katrina and Bruce need our prayers as she continues her treatments. She is doing well and
we all know that this will be the year that cancer is no longer in their lives.
Please remember our new member Sidney Langston as she recovers from a broken
foot. Sidney we know you will be going to therapy for the foot and we want you to know we
are all praying for a speedy and complete recovery
Several of our members have lost family members this past year. Please keep them
all lifted up during the holiday season. Many of us have unspoken requests and burdens on
our hearts so please pray for our members to all feel the love and peace of God’s touch in
2015. We also should always pray for our nation and those who have made the decision to
serve and protect us in the Armed Forces and for those who have chosen to serve our local
communities.
