DESCRIPTION

Personal branding from a branding expert point of view. Your personal brand hinges on the work you do, not on the expertise you think you have. Learn by example, and see how consistency, interconnection, and exploration of all mediums can bring you into the public eye. In retrospect I regret there are no female examples on here. Among my favorites (though indeed VERY different examples) are: Amanda Palmer https://twitter.com/amandapalmer https://www.facebook.com/amandapalmer http://amandapalmer.net/blog/20121015/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amanda_Palmer And Nicole Simon: https://twitter.com/nicolesimon https://www.facebook.com/nicole.simon https://www.linkedin.com/in/nicolesimon http://nicole-simon.eu/ In September 2014 I did this keynote and workshop with colleague Raffaela Rein for Social Media Week in Berlin, Germany. I had a great time walking through some of my favorite examples in the personal branding world, comparing advantages and disadvantages and passing on what I've learned from them. Ultimately my approach to personal branding is exactly the same as branding. This entire presentation is built on the idea that you can break down your own brand the same way you do a company brand, which for many traditionally educated marketers is much easier to swallow. However, it is important to note that PERSONALITY, PERSONABILITY, and KEEPING IT REAL are essential elements to building a fantastic and modern brand (of any kind) from the ground up. Its not just hustle, its how you bring that hustle to others on the back of your accomplishments. A self proclaimed expert is no expert at all!
