PRESIDENT 1995-1996

The Club entered a running team in the ‘Ultimate All Nighter Fund Raising

Relay Race’ organised by the combined Wellington and Hutt Valley Rotary

Clubs, to support the Life Flight Trust, and our Club raised $7,950 to support

this worthwhile project.

Club members supported a tree-planting programme on Mana Island arranged

by the Department of Conservation. During the course of the day the team

planted in excess of 500 trees.

The Club members supported the National Child Health Research Foundation

by buying a unique set of phone cards, which raised in excess of $4,000 for

their organisation.

The Child Health Research Foundation was established by Rotary in 1971 to commemorate

the 50th Anniversary of Rotary in New Zealand and it wishes to build on the strong

relationship it enjoys with its founder, Rotary, so that together we can build a better future

for our young ones.
