Why Remove Silt ?

Total Water Storage Capacity of Ghanewadi ( As Constructed )14,440,000,000 Liters.( 0.51 TMC )

Jalna Municipal Corporation gets 4.0 mld water per day ( 4,000,000 Liters Per Day ).

In a Year JMC gets 365 x 4,000,000 = 1,460,000,000 Liter Water from Ghanewadi.

Evaporation Losses + Seepage in Soil + Loss Due to Gal formation + use by farmers = 14,440,000,000 - 1,460,000,000 = 12,980,000,000 liter. ( 89% )

Only 11 % of Capacity is

Used
