Media Studies Evaluation

Forms & Conventions (Magazine Cover)

The strap line gives a brief insight into what the magazine provides, and the website is featured too.

The cover lines on ‘PACE’ are laid out in traditional magazine form.

The magazine cover features a ‘bar code’ and ‘dateline’.

The model makes ‘eye contact’. The model dominates the magazine front cover. The ‘masthead’

‘PACE’ overlaps the models. Short, related to D&B. Modern font ‘Avenger’.

The model represents the D&B genre, due to their style, look and colour choice.

Main Cover Line uses Modern font ‘N-Gage’ and yellow to attract reader.

Forms & Conventions (TOC)

‘PACE’ breaks convention by not featuring photos.

‘PACE’ logo is featured on the TOC.

Similar theme is carried through from the magazine cover to the TOC.

White, yellow and red represent D&B.

Page number is displayed at the bottom.

Page numbers and features show where articles are.

Article title are in yellow to make it obvious to the reader, and use the font ‘N-Gage’

Forms & Conventions (DPS)

Page number is displayed at the bottom.

The heading uses the font ‘N-Gage’. Consistent theme.

Explanatory text size 12 font ‘Arial’.

The top three artist have photos featured on DPS. •Young•Stylish

The photos have been edited, to represent each artist in their own way.

Colour theme is consistent with the magazine. Clean lines and layout contrast well.

Representations of Social Groups

The magazine represents people in the social grouping C1,C2 and D. As the people that will read this magazine will be either working/lower middle class.
