LED Products In Your House

What is an LED?

A Light-Emitting Diode is a product that is assembled in a lamp or light bulb for use in light fixtures. LED light bulbs tend to have a lifespan as well as electrical efficiency that is many times better than average incandescent and fluorescent lamps.

LED products are now starting to be used more and more by emergency services, car manufacturers and for street lighting.

There are a number of items around the household which are LED based or have LED counterparts.

In this presentation, I’ll be taking a look at some of the items in your house which you may not have realised are LED or now have LED, brighter and more energy efficient versions on the market.

1# The Everyday Torch

Torches come in all shapes and sizes. It’s safe to say that there are more and more LED torches popping up on the market. They’re so much brighter!

#2 Bathroom Mirrors

LED Bathroom Mirrors are a fairly modern invention. They look great and save so much energy than having the old bathroom light on whilst brushing teeth or doing make up.

3# Your Ceiling Lights

Do you have the old style or the newer LED counterparts?

LED bulbs are becoming cheaper as well as more easily accessible.

Did you know an LED bulb can power for 8 hours a day for up to 8 years?!

4# Night Lights

LED night lights can now be bought on the market. They can be plugged in on the landing and illuminate the whole hallway. LED night lights are a great solution for a child that’s scared of the dark as they can be left on all night without fear of a huge electric bill.

5# Cupboard Lights

These can be purchased off the internet or in DIY stores such as Homebase. They sit underneath or in your cupboards and provide lighting for easily accessing contents. The ones that sit under the cupboards illuminate the kitchen sides when on.

#6 Garden Lights

These can be purchased in place of burglar lights which flood the garden or as an effective path light instead of solar versions.

#7 Bedroom Mirrors

Similar to an LED bathroom mirror, the bedroom version allows you to put makeup on or fix hair without worrying about the main light of the room being too dim.

#8 Car Headlights

Newer models are now starting to incorporate LED lights into the car. This can be headlights, indicators or break lights.

#9 Camera Phones

Do you have a camera phone with a flash? Chances are, that’s a strong LED. That’s why you can use them as torches because they’re so bright.

#10 Christmas Lights

Have you bought new Christmas lights in the last couple of years and noticed that they’re now significantly brighter? That’s because most new models are now made using LED bulbs.
