Maggy Lamb played the viola with English National Opera and the Philharmonia Orchestra before taking up the post of Head of Strings at St Peter’s School in York. She now divides her time between teaching, performing and examining.Rachel Meredith is a Bristol University graduate. After a period performing both in the UK and abroad, she now teaches upper strings in York. Rachel is also a syllabus selector and examiner for ABRSM.

Rodney Slatford is a double bassist with many years of experience as a player and a teacher, as well as being an ABRSM examiner. He was a founder member of the Nash Ensemble, co-principal of the English Chamber Orchestra, Head of the School of Strings at the Royal Northern College of Music, a Radio 3 presenter and a prominent solo recording artist. In retirement he has devoted time to The Yorke Trust, a charitable musical organisation he founded in 1986 to develop high-quality music education in the community, as well as running the double bass publishing company, Yorke Edition. Rodney was awarded an OBE in 2007 for services to music.
