She now divides her time between teaching, performing and examining.Rachel Meredith is a Bristol University graduate. After a period performing both in the UK and abroad, she now teaches upper strings in York. Rachel is also a syllabus selector and examiner for ABRSM.

Rodney Slatford is a double bassist with many years of experience as a player and a teacher, as well as being an ABRSM examiner. He was a founder member of the Nash Ensemble, co-principal of the English Chamber Orchestra, Head of the School of Strings at the Royal Northern College of Music, a Radio 3 presenter and a prominent solo recording artist. In retirement he has devoted time to The Yorke Trust, a charitable musical organisation he founded in 1986 to develop high-quality music education in the community, as well as running the double bass publishing company, Yorke Edition. Rodney was awarded an OBE in 2007 for services to music.
