Backbone of BdREN

•Designed on PGCB OPGW Network running over high voltage transmission line

• Leased one pair of optical fiber from PGCB on IRU basis for 20 years (Since 2011)

Why PGCB?

•Main target to reach public universities and create facilities for connecting private universities

• Searching for a single service provider covering the targeted Institutions

•No better option at all WRT availability of PGCB PoP at the nearest location to University

• Secure, reliable and redundant

• So ultimate choice was PGCB fiber
